In addition to being a skilled vocal instructor, Mindy is very patient and encouraging. She has been passionate about ensuring that I learn the proper techniques needed to be a good vocalist. I've even learned a couple techniques that have led to improved posture and more restful sleep. Thanks Mindy.
Donna Stoering has the rare gift of not only being a fantastic concert pianist who has traveled the world sharing her gift, but a gifted and highly effective teacher. I have my B.A. in piano and wanted advanced lessons after graduation. Donna listened for my strengths and found a way to both inspire and respect me as a student. She is amazing in how she helps her students with bench, shoulder, arm, wrist, and hand position using the body to create beautiful tones and create a musical story. When you learn a new piece from Donna, you'll understand the composer who wrote the piece and the mood he/she was trying to convey. She teaches her students how to join the composer, bringing their original thoughts and feelings into play as they perform. This brings a whole new life to practicing the piano. She is an expert in teaching technique and clarity. She is an expert in helping the student understand how to touch the keyboard in a distinctive manner for each style of music, i.e., French Impressionism has a different touch than Baroque. I am so grateful for having the privilege of taking lessons from Donna Stoering. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced performer, Donna is the teacher for you.
Citizen's Jazz helped create a memorable event and everyone loved the extra touch of having a live duo play at my parent's 50th anniversary party. Now I have to seek them out to hear more at other public events!!
Our Viking Opera singer was amazing. She was exactly as advertised -- very ridiculous and funny and light-hearted. All Star Showgrams was easy to communicate with and was very accommodating for special requests. She made up a ridiculous birthday song for our two birthday recipients, and entertained our office for ~15 minutes. Would definitely hire again (next time I want to embarrass a good friend)!
I'm a songwriter and have published a worship album in Mandarin last year. Though I'm considered a pretty good singer among people I know, I know there's a big difference between a pretty good amateur singer and a professional one. With the desire to close, or at least to minimize the gap, I looked online for a voice teacher who can help me, and found Ken. I like that he is a singer and composer himself, and more! Ken has good ears and a great sense of humor! He's also very good at communication. I sent him a song I posted on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uIJkPgl72b4 before we met. He quickly identified a couple of things I need to work on. I knew right there this is someone I can definitely learn from. I'm glad Ken responded to my inquiry in the first place, though he's out of my range in distance! It takes forty minutes, with no traffic, to drive to his place, but it's all good! I could practice what I have just learned on the drive home by singing every road sign! Ken does not feed me with any standardized curriculum. He works around my needs. I just had my second lesson. We practiced every skill I need to improve with an original song I wrote. I'm sure my second album will sound much better from this point on! Thanks, Ken!
We have had the pleasure of knowing Elizabeth for the past few years during which she has taught singing to our daughter, Katia, at home. Not only is Elizabeth knowledgeable, she is patient, thoughtful and considerate of her students. She puts nervous singers at ease while encouraging them to explore their full potential. We are most fortunate to have Elizabeth as Katia's singing instructor as our daughter really looks forward to her weekly lessons.
I can't say enough about how happy we were hiring Rob & his band The Gold Standard for our wedding in SF. They were AMAZING. He was the best thing about our wedding. The next day everyone from our friends, to our parents, and us too, were raving about how great the music was. He kept everyone dancing the entire time - even during dinner people were hitting the floor prematurely. They started playing as the guests were entering the reception venue - and when I peeked in to check them out before we entered the room - I was floored with how great they sounded! Rob was playing some electronic music with sax, flute, and there was a drummer, and a singer - Conn Curran (who was FANTASTIC). And then they played our first dance song - again, with Conn singing. It was perfect. I come from a family of musicians and they were all impressed and loved the evolution of music throughout the night. from the more Sinatra style dinner music, a bunch a great 90s stuff that appealed to our early 30s crowd, ending with more contemporary music by the end of the night. My husband and I were pretty busy preparing for the wedding beforehand so didn't give a ton of guidance on music - but we did fill out a questionnaire that Rob provided, which was great. It ended up working out perfectly, and I would recommend him a million times over to anyone getting married or throwing a party. He is professional AND talented.10 stars!!
I've worked with Stephen in live performances and studio settings over ten years and have watched him get fine performances out of a wide range of singers and instrumentalists. He's very good at creating an environment that brings out the best in singers and coaching them in their technique and performance. Would I hire him? Yes!
I recently inquired through Thumbtack to record a song for a promotional video my company is putting together. Chris responded immediately and was very prompt in all of our communication throughout the process. He was also flexible with his schedule and was able to meet with my team in short notice. When we arrived to his home studio, he was ready and raring to go with our track and was very patient since none of us our professionally trained singers. He provided us with a finished product in about a day and quickly turned around our suggested edits. He was a pleasure to work with and we hope to work with him again in the future.
I had my first lesson with Anna and I really did see improvement after just one lesson. I believe Anna is an amazing singer in her own right, and is a great teacher. I can't wait to see what progress I'll be able to make.
Michael played with a few other musicians for our wedding. He provided music for the ambient setting before the ceremony, the processional, and during our service. We appreciated how he worked with us before our wedding to determine what mood and style we wanted. When we weren't sure ourselves, he asked helpful question and offered suggestions to help us figure it out. He also worked well with the other musicians (both with just a pianist for before the ceremony and during the processional, and also with guitarist, percussionist, and singer for a different section of our ceremony) and was willing to compose original arrangements. The music was absolutely beautiful and what we wanted. He's great and we totally recommend him!
Natalie's knowledge of the fundamentals of voice has been so beneficial in my personal journey as a singer. Her experience as a singer is reflected in her tutelage which is accompanied by her kindness and patience, allowing a beginner like me to develop confidence in my voice.
Musicians are very professional and the music is very nice.
Beautiful duo! Right on spot music selection. Thank you!
Tyliah Productions has provided music for Tamarii Matairea polynesian dance groups Crab feed for the past two years. Theo Tabora is a professional, always arrives early, and has also set up his sound system for our Musicians, Drummers, and singers. I also love that he has a wide range of music for all ages. I would highly recommend Tyliah Productions for your private parties, weddings, and Corporate events.
The GTS Band has been my favorite for years, so I was thrilled when I was asked to contract with them for a high school reunion. Rick was great and easy to work with. We placed the band centrally in the room to give the lead singer an opportunity to work the room as he performed--which he does so well. As always, the music was fantastic!
Isaac and the Haze is a fantastic dance band! They were really the perfect entertainment for last two parties of about 60 people each. We hired them because some of our co-workers had heard them play at the Crow's Nest in Santa Cruz. The guys arrived about an hour early to set up their sound equipment and were ready to play right on time. Isaac, the lead singer, plays a keytar and electric cello. He has a great voice, with a big range of emotion, and really engaged the audience in between songs. The lead and back-up vocals were great and consistently held up against the big beat of the band. Other band members played lead guitar, bass, drums, and keyboard. I was worried that their 5-member band would overpower the relatively small venue, but the sound levels were perfect, and they didn’t blast us to the back of the room. There were 20 or more people dancing all the time, including young kids and a grandma in her 90's. We really liked the numbers they performed, which were mostly covers of R&B music from the 2000's, like Bruno Mars’ 24K Magic, DNCE’s Cake By The Ocean, Maroon 5’s Moves Like Jaggar, and works by Justin Timberlake. You could tell the band members were all having a good time too and enjoyed what they were doing. Great music! Great entertainment!
I've been performing for a number of years now, and I take pride in what I do. In fact, I absolutely love it. I am a songwriter; however, my main focus when performing (for now) is to play covers, which range from the 1960s (i.e., The Beatles) to modern music. I'm pretty laid-back and relatively outgoing, and I like to connect with the audience as much as possible. If my services interest you, please contact me!
I am the best singer with top affiliations from Julliard School, New York, New York. I graduated with top honors.
I'm a high-end guitarist and singer from Nashville. I am now living in Livermore, CA. I can do a "single" to a four-piece band. Thank you! Building new Website ...on Facebook and Youtube!
I'm a trilingual officiant (English/Cantonese/Mandarin), ordained to sign a marriage license for the ceremony. I'm also a trilingual MC, DJ, and singer with music, sound system, and lighting for wedding banquet receptions.
