I have engaged Sara Arlin of Homescape Designs several times over the past few years to renovate and redecorate multiple rooms in my San Jose, CA home. Among the many projects, Sara designed and managed the renovation of my master bathroom. It is as gorgeous as it is functional. The project came in on-time and on-budget and looks incredible. She saved me money by repurposing objects and elements I already had such as turning my oversized bedroom dresser into my new bathroom vanity. Now reconditioned with a granite top and refinished hardware, it looks fabulous and one-of-a-kind. She thought outside the box to give us a unique design that my husband and I just love. Homescape Designs also took our bonus room we used for junk storage and gave us a showcase wine cellar that is the envy of all our wine friends. But the best part is that we have even better storage than before in that room. And it looks amazing besides being more functional and organized. Sara gave us two rooms in one! Recently Sara took on my dining room. The table is perfect and the custom cabinetry for china is spectacular. You would think I paid three times the price! She also redecorated my master bedroom. It is dramatic and beautiful. Same with the living room she redecorated. It still takes my breath away but with affordable luxury in a room that I'm not afraid to actually use. Other recent projects include a redecorated powder room that is so unique and beautiful that people gasp when they enter. And Sara recently had my staircase banisters changed from cheap home builder's special to gorgeous wrought iron. Makes for a very dramatic entryway that I love. And just last month, we repurposed an unused area of my kitchen counter and built out an appliance garage to hide my microwave and espresso machine. Her cabinet guy matched the existing finish perfectly. Sara always brings in great trade professionals! To wrap up, let me say that Sara is an extremely hard working, reliable, personable, and very talented professional. I've worked with some outstanding designers before who have won design awards. Sara is right up there with them and has actually improved on some of their designs. I recommend her whole-heartedly. I can't think of a thing she should do differently except to clone herself and expand her business.

I was BLOWN AWAY by my room makeovers and Sara's creativeness with the space. She completely exceeded my expectations in every way and we were thrilled with the results! I have spent most of my life wasting time and money to create an atmosphere that I like. I never succeeded. In one month, Sara gave me a home that I not only love but am proud and excited to share with friends and family. She is a delight to work with and listens to your needs/wants. I would highly recommend her and plan to continue to work with her on future rooms.

I first engaged Sara's staging services over 6 years ago for one of our apartments. Since that time she has staged all of our vacant apartments. This may be a little unusual for a "Mom & Pop " business. We have 20 apartments in 3 locations. She has also advised me on interior paint colors and resources. This past year Sara has given me extensive help in a major remodel of our home. Her expertise is spot on.

My husband and I think Sara Arlin is the greatest! She is absolutely awesome to work with. She is very efficient, honors your style preference and always stays within budget. She has worked with us on many types of projects: home remodel to choose interior and exterior paint colors, inside and outside light fixtures, flooring, furniture, bedding, window treatments and, bathroom cabinets. Design comes naturally for me...it is not forced. So when I switched gears from high-tech it seemed like the natural progression to follow my passion and love for all things design.
What types of customers have you worked with?
kitchen and bath design to include selection of all finishing materials, interior design, decorating and stylizing spaces and defining color scheme.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Do your homework and check references. Ensure agreement entails full scope of work and any contingencies that may be put in place. Know all project fees upfront, what the expectations are of both parties, time-line and associated deliverables.
