I've also worked with Rick and various members of his team in the past. With excellent results. On this project a gentleman named Angel install three exterior doors. Because this was an older home it requires resizing some of the door frames and shaving back stucco. Angle quietly and professionally when about his tasks, readily made minor adjustments when requested, and did an excellent job.Oct 30, 2016Verified
Concrete Driveway Installation
Remove and replace concrete driveway. R & R provided a quick and accurate estimate. Work started on scheduled day and was completed to my satisfaction on time and on budget. Great work. I would surely use R & R on future home improvement jobs.Sep 10, 2016Verified
I can’t say that I am too pleased with the outcome or service. Overall I think the color choices are great, but the execution was very amateurish. The project fee was based on labor and materials, plus R&R covering the cost of the granite counter top. The project started off well, with demolition and shower door installation started on time. Communication was open and helpful. The project was then delayed a day because their tile guy fell behind schedule. The project was delayed another day because the counter top, back splash, and lighting fixtures were not installed properly the first time. There was also a crack in the under mount sink which needed to be replaced. Rick’s assistant/helper, Ricardo needs better supervision and training. He did not do a good job and should not be left to do projects alone. Had Rick been there to supervise Ricardo’s work things may have been correctly done the first time and completed in a more timely manner. In the end, the project became rushed and sloppy with no attention to detail. I’ve included pictures of the back splash that was installed as well as the shower door and overhead lighting installations. In all cases you can see uneven, and inconsistent installation that is not pleasing to the eye. (why would they would use white caulking for a tan wall & dark top?) I understand the need to make money on these projects and that this one went over, but that should be deducted from what Rick pays his team since they are the ones that caused this project to fall behind schedule. Instead I was made to pay the full fee even though I paid for the counter top myself, and had to escort his worker. Ricardo from Uni Marble to the house, to Home Depot, and then back to the house again...Jul 6, 2017VerifiedR & R Builders's reply
The house a very old house, With lots of uneven walls.. The customer was on a very tight budget so we only charged him $1,900 to Demolition his bathroom and re install new flooring vanity counter top toilet faucet baseboards shelving etc... When the job was complete the customer looked over everything and was very pleased and then issued the final payment, And then I see you puts a bad review, If he was unhappy with caulking we would have re caulked for him.
Rick was our general contractor for our project that included fixing up/modernizing the exterior front of our house. He has an excellent working knowledge of all the trades required to complete this work. We received multiple bids and his price is very reasonable/competitive for the scope of work we had completed. Rick stripped our house of its old wood siding, porch tiles and old existing structures. He then replaced it with stucco, beautiful stonework siding, new porch stone and fresh paint. He also put in a new driveway and walkways for us. The house has a whole new look, and we couldn't be happier. Rick has excellent connections to many subcontractors in the area. They all did wonderful work, were very professional, friendly and polite and efficient. Rick's connections to these subs was invaluable for us, as there is no way I could have found them all on my own. Rick treated our project as if it were his own house. As little things came up during the project, he was able to fix or amend them as needed. He was also very available by phone. He answered just about every time I called, and if he didn't he returned my call right away. I never had to wait to get in contact with Rick. Rick also gave very good honest opinions about our project when I asked. One example is when I chose some very expensive porch stone that didn't look right with the rest of our materials. Rick not only expressed his concern with this, but showed up with about ten more stone choices so that I could pick out a better one, which I did. The porch now looks wonderful, and the stone that we like much better than the original choice was less expensive! I think you will be very happy with your home improvement project if you hire Rick as your contractor no matter how big or small your project is. Rick will be happy to do it!Sep 12, 2016Verified
I hired Rick and Ron at R&R General Services to build a cat patio at my house. This required building a custom frame and installing the fence wire, and having a custom door built and installing a cat door into it. They did a very professional job, got it done in the minimum time. They were flexible and cooperative as we worked out the details of the design together, and then implemented it flawlessly. Rick also worked with me to accelerate the work on the custom door which was being done by a subcontractor - it took a little finesse to get our small job put at the front of the line in front of some larger jobs, thus saving several days on our project. Both Rick and Ron are good-natured and friendly, as is their assistant Aaron, who helped with finishing the new door and installing the hardware. In summary, I am very happy with the work that R&R General Services did for me, and I would be pleased to hire them again for other projects at my house.Jan 6, 2016Verified
