Introduction: Lessons are given in my home studio on a Steinway Model B grand piano. Private lessons allow me to tailor my teaching to the particular needs of each student. This allows me to set goals for the student that are achievable but that require the student to work to reach them. I have been teaching for over 30 years. I enjoy the moment when students move from technicians, pushing all the right keys at the right time, to musicians - bringing the music to life by bringing their life to the music. My fee is actually for a 40 minute lesson each week, and I will provide all the books we need at no cost to you. We usually have three recitals each year with my students, plus there are other performance opportunities through the Music Teachers Association of California, of which I am a member. Students may participate in the Certificate of Merit program if we both think it will be helpful for their development.

My daughter Kayleen and I have been taking piano lesson from Mr. Eldridge since 2005 and we enjoy the lessons very much. Kayleen started learning piano when she was six year old, now at level nine. She often plays to entertain our guests at home during holiday parties; people are so impressed by her fast fingers. Mr. Eldridge is her only piano teacher. Kayleen was qualified to play at State Convention for Music Teacher Association of California (MTAC) twice and played on Santa Clara Branch Honors Recital last year. Mr. Eldridge is very patient and skillful. He hosts many recitals through out the year for the families to enjoy the performance. I credited Mr. Eldridge for keeping Kayleen interested on the learning path even though she is about to graduate from the middle school. I personally enjoy playing piano too, and truly believe that music makes us smart and sharp. Mr. Eldridge has many young and talented students that earned the highest qualification to play for the MTAC State Convention and Honors Recitals. He enjoys teaching piano lessons and is always very proud to see his students advance in their skills and have great performance on stage.

Mr. Eldridge is a high quality piano teacher. The caliber of learning and performance of the students is more than we had expected. In regards to that, he has patiently worked with us through many challenges my daughter has faced with health issues and such, tailoring what we needed to keep her going. In addition, the students have the opportunity to perform 2-3 times a year to get comfortable playing in front of others. I highly recommend Michael Eldridge Piano.
