Doris Reed is a fantastic piano teacher! She is well qualified, experienced, and incredibly dedicated to her students. She is credentialed music teacher, has over 20 years of experience, and organizes annual concerts for her students, featuring talented musicians from local colleges and universities. As a teacher she believes in instilling in her students a love music, and devotes time in each lesson to musical history and appreciation, as well as technical theory and practice. She was my teacher for 2 years, and though I eventually transitioned from playing piano to playing clarinet, I would not have the same joy and appreciation for music if it were not for Mrs. Reed.

Doris truly cares about her students and is very passionate about teaching music. She takes extra time to teach about composers and music theory and history. I would highly recommend her to all levels of piano students!

Ms. Doris has been teaching our kids piano since Elementary school. She followed an established curriculum with regular tests and certification to move to the next level. Our children love going to her lessons. Ms. Doris also goes above and beyond by organizing concerts where here students perform and get to see accomplished guests artists. I highly recommend Ms. Doris.

Doris is a perfect teacher for beginner students. Her 45 minute lesson starts with 15 minuts of musician survey from classical to jazz, which my 8yr old kid loves. She's patient, caring and passionate about music. My daughter has been with her for about 2years and happy with her.

Our daughter started taking piano lessons with Doris when she was 7 years old. What we liked about Doris lessons was that in addition to teaching the more practical aspect of playing, she spent time in the beginning of each lesson listening to music and learning about classical composers. Doris is very patient with young learners, and it is very clear that she loves teaching children and share her love of music. My daughter always felt very well taken care of, and looked forward to the classes. My daughter loved playing on the new grand piano that Doris has in her living room. At the end of each lesson, Doris would write a note describing what they worked on and what the homework would be for next time, so there was never any confusion. Doris arranges recitals every year, sometimes in her own home, sometimes at a bigger venue. Last time it was at Prospect High School. She usually invites a local talented college age musician to perform at the recitals, which is highly motivating for the younger students to listen to. Doris charges a very competitive rate for her lessons, one of the lowest we could find in the area.
