Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: What I like most about my job is doing an outstanding job of helping people who need help and who then express appreciation for the help they have received. From my own experience as a consumer of many different types of services, I know what a relief it is to find someone who is highly skilled and willing to provide me with whatever it is I am in need of at the time. Professionals who are highly skilled and reliable are a rare breed. Those who are also pleasant and reasonably priced, as well as accessible, are an even rarer breed! In my own life, I have sometimes searched for such professionals, without success. So when people find me and I help them achieve their goals and they express appreciation, it makes all the hard work worthwhile.

After engaging the services of Dr. Daniel K. Berman with excellent results for print display ad design and copywriting, I retained his services for a direct mail campaign targeting college campus bookstores throughout California. Dan provided invaluable assistance throughout all stages of the campaign, producing both the copy and design for all the pieces of the mailing. I was highly impressed with his vast knowledge in the realm of direct mail. One small example is the information he gave me about the comparative effects of different colors on response rates to direct mail pieces. None of the other "experts" I consulted with (whose hourly rates were all considerably higher) were in Dan's league. More specifically, the response to the bookstore mailing was a whopping 25 percent, which I understand is quite a remarkable achievement for any mailing, far exceeding my greatest expectations. I received numerous compliments from respondents about the quality of the mailing package, which of course translated into positive impressions of my company. I could not recommend Dan highly enough. in addition to his other skills, his prowess as a writer and communicator is almost magical. I only hope that he will continue to have time to assist us in the future!

Having worked in the high-tech sector for more than 25 years, including at and with a variety of Fortune 100 companies, I’ve interacted with many talented writers and marketing consultants. None of them can match Dan in terms of level of skill, ability and professionalism. He is a master, who combines superlative communication skills with an amazing knowledge of consumer behavior and cutting-edge marketing techniques, to produce breathtakingly effective marketing collateral. I would recommend Dan enthusiastically to anyone, except maybe potential competitors!

I actually never imagined I would be able to find someone who could help me so much in so many ways: concept development, branding, pricing, copywriting, marketing and more. It was like finding the ideal one-stop solution for most of my needs. Dan's level of expertise and range of knowledge are amazing. He is energetic, intelligent, reliable and also extremely personable.

Dan was a delight to work with! I needed someone to write my website's "About Us" section and hired Dan for the job. His first draft was not what I had in mind so I asked him to make a few adjustments. He promptly sent me back a revised copy and it was just what I was looking for. He also refunded me a healthy amount of my payment since the job wasn’t as demanding as he expected. He genuinely cares about his client’s success and his rates are more than fair. I’m looking forward to working with him again!

FAQs

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Look for someone with years of experience, showing a long and successful track record. Look for documentation of satisfied clients. Look for someone who is PATIENT, pleasant and DETAIL-ORIENTED. Look for someone whose own promotional copy is well-written, ideally with no errors. (If a service provider can't even do a good job with his or her own material, that doesn't bode well for your project!) Understand that, in order to receive an acceptable level of quality, you will have to pay a certain price. You will always find someone to quote you a low fee but your money will be wasted if you don't get the level of quality that you need. These are labor-intensive services, requiring specialized knowledge and a particular skill set that takes years to develop. It's not off-the-shelf product that lends itself to being sold cheaply through economies of scale. If you plan to work with this individual in person: Request a get-acquainted session, in which you sit down together, to discuss your situation and your individual needs. The service provider should be willing to do this at no cost or obligation to you. If you plan to work together virtually, have a phone conversation instead.
