This is my second time hiring David. I had a very good experience working with him before, so I trust him and decided to contact him again. My new project was THE TOTAL GARAGE REMODELING (GARAGE CABINETRY). Project wasn’t easy because we had a limit of time + I wanted to reuse the old cabinets wood to save money. David helped me a lot he did such a big tough work, starting from buying needed things and finishing by cleaning the garage after a done work. There was a little problem working this time - scheduling the time. However, I guess this is because he’s hired by many people. I never get angry when he’s late, because it’s really worth to wait his come. If he comes, he will do the work, do it very good and will finish it! I’m very satisfied with a done work this time too! Thank you David very very much! Also, my first time hiring him was for a project INTERIOR DOOR INSTALLATION David: - made the appointment - discussed the price - cut the door - drilled the doorknob hole - installed the door handle & hinges from the old door into a new one - painted the door Everything was done in one day: quickly, responsibly and efficiently. Excellent work done!

Gleo communicated promptly and arrived promptly -- apparently a very hard thing to find these days in service professionals. He used the equipment carefully so as not to damage hard wood floors and quickly unclogged the drain. In addition he changed the tap for a nominal amount. The second issue was not fixable and he offered to replace it.

I contacted Fred at 4pm on a Monday after he messaged me saying he'd be available Tuesday evening. After speaking with me on the phone and I explained the urgency, (having three kids in the house makes any house work a little difficult) Fred graciously worked around our schedule and came in at 6:30 to help mount two different TVs. One on a wall in a bedroom, another above a fireplace. He was pleasant, efficient, and very nice to the kids that kept popping in from time to time to say hello. We will definitely be using Fred again for anything needed around the house. Thanks Fred!

I hired Jasper from My Apartment Is Better Than Yours. I think they did a terrific job at a very reasonable price. I'm really pleased that I decided to go with them. I had a number of unusual carpentry tasks to complete when I moved to my new place. The windows were old and the wood was irregular and moldy, so the wood around the antique glass panels needed to be replaced. I was told those windows hadn't been opened in 40 years, but now they work perfectly and you'd never know the wood wasn't original. Also, several doorways lacked doors when I moved in, and were unusual rounded shapes cut into the stucco without doorframes. Jasper was able to make me custom doors with antique iron-wrought handles, and they look awesome. I also needed threshholds worked on, cabinets put up, new benches made for my roof deck, a custom projector and screen put in, antique chandeliers installed, a lock repaired... and I'm probably forgetting one or two things. They are in the process of putting the finishing touches on my humidor (they had to build me custom legs for it), and it's going to look spectacular. Anyway, they knocked it all out of the park. They were prompt and clean and didn't cause much of a disturbance despite all the work they were doing. They'll be my go-to for anything I need done in the future. I definitely recommend them.

I highly recommend Luis of Fireplace Techs for repairs to your gas fireplace. Luis was very punctual - even called me while he was en route to let me know he was coming. He promptly diagnosed the problem with my fireplace (it wouldn't light when I pressed the "on" switch), had the necessary part to repair it in his van, and was able to get it working again in one visit. He was very neat and cleaned up everything when he was finished. Luis is a genuinely nice, honest, decent, and hardworking person. I wish there were more people like him in the world!

We moved into a house from the 70's that needed a ton of work and we needed a quick turnaround. Not only did Carlos and his team make it happen, they went above and beyond to make sure that we were happy with every detail. They removed the nasty, dingy popcorn ceilings and applied a semi smooth texture. They Painted all of the ceilings including the ceiling beams. They Patched holes, retextured walls, installed new door knobs and painted the entire house. They Installed and painted baseboards and painted the fireplace. Our goal was to get everything done before Christmas and they made it happen. I can't believe the transformation! It looks like we live in a new house. There's no trace of the nasty popcorn ceilings and overall the house looks fresh and finished. Carlos continually checked in and was honest with his pricing. Very happy with the final results.

We had Ryan over yesterday to repair 3 interior doors in a very old and actually historic San Franciscan Victorian house. In addition to the three interior doors, Ryan painted the front door which had also just been replaced. His attention to detail was great, there were constant adjustments to make sure everything fit, latched, matched, didn't drag, looked great, etc. His response was prompt, he replied almost immediately and was available to start the very next day. He came prepared for the job, from start to finish. Ryan is very up front and fair in terms of compensation. You will have zero issue with the transparency and fairness of his bids. It should also be noted that this is a very old building. The areas where the door hinges connected to the wall/door frame were extremely dilapidated, the wood was old and and over drilled. It was like putty. But Ryan rocked it. Not only did Ryan pay close attention to the style of the Victorian building and matched the details perfectly, his finished product was seamless. You can't even tell that work had been done. There wasn't even dust on the floor. It was legit, honest good work. 100% recommend.

Kirk and his team performed an interior remodel and a new garage build for my house from January 2011 to July 2011. I am satisfied with Kirk’s work. He is very experienced in new constructions and remodels. He did a very good job for a very good price. Kirk also gave me lots of free extras at his expense. In March 2010 I purchased a 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom house in Union City, California. The house was in good structural condition, but as a foreclosured unit, it needed some rehabilitation. The original detached garage was in poor condition; it was badly damaged by termites and water. My intent was to have the detached garage demolished and completely rebuilt from the ground up. I planned on doing interior renovation at a later time. I found Kirk from craigslist and he had a link to his Thumbtack page. I called him and he came by to give me an estimate. He said he could give me a really good deal on a new garage and do an interior remodel for a little more than what I would have paid for the garage alone. Kirk was really enthusiastic about doing my job, much more so than the other contractors I had come to give me a bid. Kirk also had very good ideas about modernizing the interior. He suggested a bar counter between my kitchen and dining area. He would also turn my empty utility rooms into a master bedroom and master bathroom. And he wanted to create a laundry machine closet. Kirk had an architect draw the construction plans; his architect did a really nice job. He submitted it to the city as part of the permit application process. I wanted the work done with all permits so everything would be by the book. It would also help should I decide to sell the house at a later date. Kirk started out on the interior work first. He demolished the old kitchen and utility room. He built a new kitchen, a master bedroom, a master bathroom, a laundry machine closet, and a small coat closet by the front door. Kirk said he could also do a couple more things to the interior. He would do the labor for cheap if I paid for the materials. So I agreed and Kirk also replaced my front door, front window, and sliding glass door. He also remodeled my fireplace and fixed a bunch of broken things in my original bathroom. Kirk also completely rewired the house. The original wiring was a dangerous mess, a potential fire hazard. The interior work was completed towards the end of April 2011 and all the work was approved by the city inspector. It looked really nice. I received many compliments from friends and family. I am fairly picky with details and I did notice a couple flaws with fit and finish. I pointed out them out to Kirk. He and his workers did fix them. The garage work started immediately afterwards. The old garage was not worth saving so it was demolished and hauled away. The original foundation was unusable. So Kirk jackhammered it out. Kirk poured a new heavy-duty foundation onto an extensive frame of rebar. He tied it into the house foundation. Then he framed the new oversized 510 square foot garage. Kirk added a storage attic with a pull-down ladder. Kirk also poured a new driveway that looked excellent. Kirk added a 50 amp subpanel to the garage. He also gave me a bunch of free extras like wall insulation. Kirk also used roof panels coated with an aluminum heat reflective substance. The garage was completed by the end of July 2011. It looked really nice. Like the interior, I also received compliments from friends and family. The above garage attic storage with the pull-down ladder was really useful. The garage also passed city inspection. There were also a few issues with fit and finish in the garage. Kirk fixed the problems that I pointed out. While the garage was being built, Kirk also repaired my patio awning and side perimeter fence. He did an excellent job on them. One lady even drove by, stopped, and complimented on how nice the outside looks. I am overall satisfied with Kirk’s work. He really transformed my house. Since everything was done with permits, I now have a 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom house on county and city records. If you want to see his work on my house, ask Kirk to give you my phone number.

Mike was very dedicated to the project, and even when it was determined that the issue was more complicated than originally thought, he went above/beyond to find a solution spending a lot of extra time to do so. Would recommend for any chimney and fireplace work.

I highly recommend Fredy for any of your handyman needs. I hired him for a small drywall project but i could see he had many skills so I had him to numerous projects: wood floor sanding and staining, crown moulding and baseboard install, framing, wallpaper, plumbing, welding, tile repair, painting, furniture building, building a fence, and finish carpentry. I am probably missing some things! I worked with numerous other tradesman before I found Fredy on Thumbtack, and I found the quality and reliability of others slipped over time, but not Fredy! He continued to maintain a high level of customer service throughout the numerous projects. He always asks if I'm happy, and replies by saying "I'm not happy if you're not happy!" And I could tell he meant it. I also found his level of ethics to be very high and his pricing very fair. He is an upbeat personality which is also a pleasure to work with. I will continue to use Fredy for all my handyman needs in my home and business.

Kevin and his assistant did a superb job for a reasonable price. Kevin is a 3rd generation mason and it shows. He knows his stones, mortars and cements. I've had other masons over the years and Spencer was the best. They worked long hard days and finished the job quickly and on the day they had promised. The job included replacing a stamped cement patio off our kitchen with slate one, fixing some cracks in cement and reattaching a stone facing that had come loose from a waterfall. A challenge was the door seal to the kitchen could not be changed because it was embedded on the other side by a new wood floor. Kevin was able to work around this by carefully choosing slate of exactly the right thickness and grinding down the underlying base. The resulting transition is level and looks perfect.

Richard did a free standing drywall for my open space loft. Difficult ! About 300 sq feet to enclose and a sliding door to customize drywall and studs. Beautiful job, and well done. I've seen similar things done on my street, and Richard's work was by far the best. I think he gives competitive pricing, and well worth quality.
