Dog training type
I would highly recommend K.O. Dog Training. The trainers, Philip and Michelle were great to work with. They were prompt to each session and made themselves available in between in case I had questions or concerns. They were very patient with me as a new puppy owner and great with my dog, Teddy. Our sessions are over and they made it clear that they are an available resource to me for the life of my dog. I am very pleased with the progress that Teddy (and I) have made.May 9, 2018Verified
We are half way through our six week training program and our dog is thriving in her commands being learned. They make it fun for both me and my puppy!May 24, 2017Verified
KO Dog Training has provided my wife and me with the ability to walk our dog in a controlled and predictable manner. Since our dog is an American Pit Bull Terrier, she is [was] prone to pull on the leash with immense force (like a team of horses), which on some occasions had caused my wife to fall and sustain injury. Moreover, our dog now responds to commands (as training is still in the initial phase) like "come", "sit", "focus", "stop", and "down" (as in lay down). The rate at which our dog is learning, she should be able to do our income taxes before April 15.Mar 27, 2017Verified
great trainers for our puppy, although our dog is obviously smarter than us and Michelle and Philip seems to be training us more than our dog!Feb 25, 2017Verified
Philip came to my house to evaluate my dog. We had training sessions in a fenced area where we taught her basic commands and walking on a leash. He and his wife/cotrainer helped us to get Siri through basic training and walking on roads and sidewalks. He is excellent in communicating how to effectively get your dog to listen and obey commands. I have enjoyed our training sessions and recommend anyone who wants one on one training to go to Philip,Aug 11, 2016Verified
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? Our prices vary based on the duration of the specific program. Our programs generally start at $300 (4 sessions). We most commonly provide 6 session programs which are $450. Therapy Dog, Emotional Support Dog, and Service Dog Training programs are unique to each dog and pricing varies in that the duration of the program is longer (a discount may be given based on the number of sessions purchased). We offer a 10% Discount for Active Military & Veterans and for Senior Citizens. Our pricing is based on training at our own training yard. For At-Home Training we charge a travel fee of 10% - 20% based on your location.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? Our first step is to provide a Free & No-Obligation Assessment of the dog in the customer's home (approximately 30 minutes). This allows us to better determine the training needs of the dog, and learn about the owner's training goals. After the initial Assessment, we present a training program best suited for the owner & dog, for the owner's consideration. We usually conduct Assessments on Tuesdays & Thursdays after 5:00 p.m. and conduct Training Sessions on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays (evening appointments available). Emotional Support and Service Dog Training is done on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays in the morning hours.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?Philip & Michelle are both Certified Dog Trainers through Animal Behavior College (a 12 month certification program including academic work, practical experience, mentorship, and testing). Philip is an AKC endorsed trainer & evaluator for the AKC's Canine Good Citizen, STAR Puppy, Community Canine and Urban Canine Good Citizen titles. Michelle was the Honor Graduate of her class at Animal Behavior College. Philip & Michelle are both Pet CPR Certified.
