FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I typically price my events on: number of guests / location of event / time duration of the event. Once I have those pieces of information, I can provide a rate for my services for that event. No two events are the same.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My process is to find out ultimately what kind of music the client wants for their event as well as any additional add-ons they may require (dancefloor lights/ video projector & screen/ etc.). I've got a music library that's around 75,000 titles (and counting), and I do my best to track down music the client wants. Most importantly, I make the event about the client, not myself.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As far as formal education, I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communication and Philosophy. However, I got started DJing while in high school in greater New York area where I watched and learned from great DJs in New York City. While in college, I worked with a mobile DJ company where I learned firsthand how to successfully manage a wide selection of events (proms, corporate events, weddings, nightclubs, etc.). In San Francisco, I served as the Resident DJ at the Starlight Room, the number one nightclub in the city for over 18 years. In addition to that, I have performed at over 1,500+ weddings (and counting), as well as thousands of corporate events, nightclubs, holiday and private parties in my DJ career.
