Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I offer expert, full-service stonework with fair pricing, natural stone, and all other types of solid surfaces, kitchens and baths, showers, fireplaces, BBQs, pool surrounds, jacuzzis and bar tops, floors, walls, or anywhere else that makes sense. I also do custom stone sinks, water drops, and custom fountains (with textures and finishes like you may have never seen). All projects can be created from start to finish or as a piece work. I offer stone and tile design consultation, fabrication, installation, restoration, repair, stone and tile sourcing, material sourcing, prefabricated installation and sourcing, face re polishing, fill and polish surface fissures, pull out voids caused during quarry processing, causing dullness on face of surface to a brilliant shine (in most cases depending on the stone structure (I will be able to tell or I will test a sample.), strip and reseal, color enhancement, stain removal, refinishing (face lift poorly installed stone), re level/polish evenly uneven surface and edge joints to a brilliant shine or matching finish, similar stone integration/color, and hue matching. I can get rid of that little shell or ugly spot in the stone that has always bugged you in an otherwise good installation, or anything else that somebody has told you nothing can be done about. I also do material surface retexturing (change finish surface from polished to honed, antique, leather, velvet, acid washed, flamed, split face or vice versa to meet design needs when not available from quarries) of marble, granite, quartzite, onyx, limestone, and any other natural stone tile or stone slab. I provide any type of edge work (not just the easy ones), squared and symmetrical undermount sink cutouts custom tile sizes cut from a 3/4" slab, or larger tiles to high-quality standards (to accommodate design needs with bevel at edges, if required). In most cases, I can make cracks, scratches, gouges, and chips disappear completely (most cases, even in your darker stones). I will give you a full prognosis of the project at the initial visit, and again at the design, planning, measurement and/or template stages, before beginning work. I have been doing this type of work since July of 1991 (over 22 years) all over the San Francisco Bay Area, Southwest U.S. and beyond, and as far as Maui. I am not afraid to take on anything, from wrapping a whole room in stone floor to ceiling (matching flow from one piece to the next, of course, if possible; again, I tell you before we purchase a stone), anchoring the stone into wall framing and ceiling joists, or repairing a 100-ft. long, earthquake-caused crack varying from 1/4" to 3/4" wide in different areas (6-year old, full of dirt) in the limestone lobby at a high-end resort in Maui, Hawaiian Islands, working alone over a 2-week period. I provide resurfacing a 20' long x 12' wide, three-landing 15 stairs, front entry, with detailed wall facings on both sides in Nevada quarried Statuary Vein marble. There were delivery dolly gouge marks 1/4" deep 30" long in some places. I finished the stair treads, risers, and field to a soft, evenly honed finish at 3555 Jackson Street, San Francisco, CA, or another at Clay Street, San Francisco off Fillmore, where some of the marble risers were cracked, broken and missing. I found pieces, and made them match the existing, and precisely cut, fit, installed, and finished them to fit the broken shapes. I had filled the cracks, and finished them out to look like it was the original installation. I've been declared an artist by clients, designers, artists and colleagues alike. I am matching flow across entire tile floors and wall installations (porcelain or stone), if necessary or wanted. My clients feel secure due to high attention to detail, integrity, and honesty, from start to finish, and also my ability to guide them through the decision-making process smoothly. Extremely complicated/risky installations are my specialties. I do refabrication of a problem or poorly designed/poorly installed stone (say too much extension on a cantilever that is sagging) to exacting standards (lived in or not), leaving no mess or damage to any surrounding areas (even up against shower glass, stainless, cabinets, sinks) to accommodate for function or aesthetics. I also do very flat or level (if doable) mortar beds, and dry pack or wet set tile installations, butt joint or spaced. I am a large-format tile and large floor area tile installation specialist. I can also professionally plumb your project DWV (drain, waste, vent), modify or lower drain outlet in walls to allow for deeper 10" to 12" sinks, if necessary. I professionally design, supply, source and install custom or in-stock cabinetry, minor electrical (moving receptacle boxes to even heights and install receptacles and cover plates) in back splashes. I do minor/major framing; fine finish drywall, tape and mud; demolition/haul away of any or all existing without disturbing surrounding areas. All work is done by myself, or is closely supervised. I sometimes may take a few days more than the other guys that come right in and get right out, sometimes I'm faster in the end as nothing has to be redone or left as a compromise; but my finished product is like night and day to many installations that I have seen. I do not cut corners for time, and I don't take forever to make it good. I will take the time necessary to make the installation structurally sound, and I completely protect your home, hanging plastic, masking, covering floors, and so on. I use top-quality stone products and equipment in my fabrication and installation practices. I believe that your project deserves to be seamless or nearly seamless (sometimes that is all that is possible in some stones), of the utmost quality, and to be functionally and aesthetically appealing for many years to come. If you're not happy, I'm not happy. I won't leave your job until you are happy. I love my work and my talents that I have honed down (no pun intended) over the years to the finest skill set many of my clients have ever seen. I get great fulfillment out of watching my clients stand before the work that I had just created, their fingers traesping across the smooth edges of my counters, and a certain peace or calm comes over them for a moment, then they startle and turn to me with a pleased smile on their faces and say, "This looks really good in here." It's a great feeling! I can bid off plans if the project is still way out, although I like to personalize myself to the space that I will be creating in, if possible, to steer clear of anything that could arise once it gets harder to change the plan, or you just have to "live with it". Don't hesitate to call with any questions or concerns. Thank you for your consideration. David Wilson, Sr.
