I am the most unlikely person to hire a trainer, this guy is a gift from the health Gods! Soon to be booked solid- get this trainer while you can. He’s attentive, encouraging, intelligent and committed. I could have gotten a new car or this guy. I made the right choice. Girls- trust me - you need a new man in your life and this is him. Coach Andrew is a top notch trainer! He is very good with pushing you when you need it, and has a vast knowledge of powerlifting. If you tell him your goals he will form a plan to get you there as safely and efficiently as possible. He often times knows how many reps I will be able to do before I even know. I’ve been able to achieve PRs regularly on deadlifts and squats each week I’ve been training with Andrew. I started at 315lbs on deadlifts (three months ago)the first time I had ever tried them, and now I’m up to 435. My squats have gone from 365 to 405 and I’m only working out two to three times a week. Thank you for the motivation and guidance! 500 is just around the corner, and I’m feeling good at 48 years old.

I came to Andrew through Thumbtack with no prior experience working with a personal trainer. I have been a runner for many years, and chronic, regular injuries always sidelined me for a portion of every year. I tried strength training and flexibility routines on my own, but always felt like I was getting the mechanics wrong and further injuring myself. I’ve had a handful of sessions with Andrew so far and am amazed how precisely he has zoned in on my weaknesses. I hoped for — but did not expect — to work with a trainer who understands the common weak points and injuries for runners. To my surprise, Andrew’s intuition and experience has thus far keyed in so accurately to my under-developed muscles and mechanics. In just a few sessions, I can already feel less pain and awkwardness in my runs. I feel more efficient and am wildly optimistic that with this work I can for the first time keep running a sustainable practice. As far as personality and instruction goes, Andrew is spot on for my liking. He brings a wealth of physiological knowledge to his instruction and is eager to share the rationale behind the exercises and load. He is demanding but responsive if the load is too much; he is positive and encouraging without being cloying in his support. I’m very happy with Andrew’s work thus far and look forward to regular sessions to keep me running.

Such a great guy. He’s flexible and understanding when it comes to conflicting schedules. He has great workouts catered to your personal situation and is extremely well versed in all kinds of exercises. Would recommend him to anyone willing to put the work in.

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

    I currently charge $40/session with an option to add a friend for $30. 5 booked sessions earns a 5% discount, 10 sessions earns a 10% discount, and 20 sessions earns a 20% discount. Referrals get 3 sessions free!

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

    We will start with an interview to find your current goals and training needs. I'll then develop an individualized program for your current status. This plan will be adjusted based on how you respond and what YOU feel. Our goal is to make as much progress as possible, while learning about the process and having fun!

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

    I have studied under some of the greatest lifters and coaches in the Bay Area, and been coached online by some of the highest result producing coaches in powerlifting. I have combined their knowledge with my own to create a unique and powerful training system that can be applied to any experience level and goal. I have been training for 13 years and played collegiate level football at Brown University. While I was there, I volunteered and studied under our strength and conditioning staff, which also vastly increased my knowledge.
