Our 12th grade twin daughters are currently applying to colleges. Since Juliet was a high school principal last year, she understands the pressure of the college application process. She's been instrumental in teaching them the skills to write outstanding personal statements, apply for financial aid, and research the right universities. She also tutors them for AP Lit! We highly recommend her as a consultant and teacher!

My son is in 4th grade and math is not his strongest subject. I had a tutor for him near the end of 3rd grade and the first part of 4th grade and something was off. I researched some options and wanted to find a tutor that specialized in math and was familiar with common core. When I came across Michael and read his excellent reviews I felt that I needed to give him a shot. I am glad I did. He has been helping my son with math for a little over a month now and the results have been great! My son is definitely feeling more confident and understanding the fundimentals thanks to Michael. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a math tutor! Amy

Clear communication from Joyee and his math tutor. They made the process easy and were helpful about scheduling tutoring times and dates. I'd also recommend them for college and scholarship planning.

Baeleigh (our daughter to whom James is tutoring) says, "I love that instead of James just telling me how to do something, he uses visuals and is very interactive in explaining something to me. There is nothing that he can do better, I am happy that he is my tutor." As parents, we like that he is so good at finding how Baeleigh learns best so that he can teach her in a way she understands. He is patient and has been good at keeping in touch with her teachers and also with us.

      About

I am a college Math/Music major from Haverford College and I tutor from elementary to high school. Tutoring Subjects: • All basic Math, pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, pre-Calculus and Calculus. For students who want to get ahead, I can help them learn concepts beyond what the classes teach. • Reading, grammar and writing fundamentals. • Biology, Chemistry and any history class from Greek history to AP US History. Music Lessons: • Beginning through advanced instruction in: ~Trumpet ~ Clarinet ~ French Horn • Music theory basics and ear training. • As a multi-instrumentalist, I can help your child find the instrument about which they are most passionate. I've had nearly a decade of experience playing clarinet, french horn and trumpet (as well as most other brass and woodwind instruments) in jazz bands and orchestras. I've coached students and been a private teacher for the past five years. I believe strongly in establishing a strong understanding in music theory but incorporate aspects that keep the student interested in their instrument. I additionally give lessons in film production, photo editing and computer/software use.

I am a research associate at a medical research laboratory. I have received the degree of bachelor of science (B.S.) in biology from SDSU with molecular and cellular biology emphasis. As I prepare myself for professional school to become a practicing physician, I am devoted to helping you to achieve your own success in school and life. I excel in math and science, and I am able to help with high school and college level courses, including mathematics, chemistry, physics, and biology. I have recently scored 1450/1600 (Verbal 650/800 + Quantitative 800/800) at a 95 percentile for my GRE (Graduate Record Examination). Besides math and science, I am also fluent in Chinese. As a Dean’s List student from college of science and a member of Alpha Epsilon Delta Pre-professional Honor society (AED), I have gained good reasoning skill and formed fine learning habit over the course of my college study. Now, I will pass my knowledge and experience to you! Comparing to a step-by-step tutorial solution manual, I focus on the techniques and methods for problem analyzing, as well as integration and application of related concepts in addition to problem solving. I have been a private in-home tutor for over 3 years, and have been listed as an advising tutor at SDSU Pre-professional Health Advising Office (PPHA). The students I have worked with all felt the sessions are very helpful. I have been told that I have a very easy-going and patient personality by students and parents, and I enjoy spending quality time developing the friendship with my students to discuss issues related to their school and life. Aside from the improvement in grades, many students were benefited and showed improvement in their learning habit, time management, and organization skills. If you need any help, please feel free to contact me. I am sure that the time we spend is going to be very valuable to both you and me! Sincerely, Hunter Wang Learning Advantage
