Michael is a really wonderful tennis instructor! He was able to quickly identify my strengths and weaknesses and work with me accordingly. He catered to my fun/fitness/improve technique needs. In addition, he worked around my schedule and made my lessons possible. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a beginner/intermediate instructor.

I highly recommend Gary Young. He's been coaching my seven year old son for several months in private, one hour lessons. He's infinitely patient and keeps my son engaged the whole time. We've tried several other sports with my son (unsuccessfully) but Ryan is always eager to get to his tennis lessons with Gary.

Coach Rok has been working with my two children 6 and 9 for a few weeks now. The kids really love their experience, and have learned so much already. Coach Rok is always enthusiastic, suportive, and very good at working with thr kids on the court. He is patient with the kids, and teaches proper technique. I highly recommend Coach Rok to any parents wanting their kids to learn tennis, as he provides really high quality coaching, and the kids really enjoy it!

I highly recommend John as a coach for both youth and adult lessons. John has helped my daughter build on and progress with her tennis. Working on improving technique as well as fostering a longer term enjoyment of the game. He challenges her yet makes her fell comfortable and progressively more confident. John has also coached me with my game, helping me improve by gently molding years of bad habits! Thank you John.

My experience with Greg and his team has been awesome. I have taken adult beginner lessons with Greg and have been very satisfied with my progress so far. Greg is methodical in his approach and takes personal interest in everyone's progress in the group. He is hands down one of the best coaches in tennis in Orange County and highly recommended.

Coach Jayner is an outstanding tennis coach. When he coaches, he encouraged and motivated my daughter as she learned the basics and appropriate techniques. I appreciated how he reviewed previous lessons and built new skills along the way. Coach Jayner is also personable and my daughter enjoys taking tennis lessons from him.

I hired Coach Vijay for a weekly private lesson for my 9 year old daughter. My daughter really enjoys her lessons with him. She is learning a lot and progressing quite well for the 1 hour a week she spends playing tennis. He drives to our neighborhood courts for the lesson, which is not nearby his neighborhood. I really appreciate that he goes out of his way for a 1 hour lesson every week. He is very flexible as well. He has been (and continues to be) a pleasure to work with.

I thought that learning how to play tennis could be impossible to me! But Davide made it happened! I didn't even know how to hold the racket correctly but I never felt frustrated or incapable. Davide was patient, funny and usefully firm with me. Tennis is not something you can teach yourself, he helped me with technique and lot of exercises! A BIG PLUS: he accommodate my demanding schedule!

When my 10-year-old son expressed an interest in learning tennis, I decided to get him private lessons to start him off with solid basics. A tennis friend highly recommended Marc. Now 2 years later, my son is competing in the highest levels of competition in San Diego, played in Team Tennis Sectionals in Indian Wells this year, and was just invited to the SCTA CTC Program for San Diego. Most importantly, he LOVES the game. Marc has been his coach through it all--teaching him the beginner basics to the more finer details of competitive play. Marc has a warm, gentle demeanor, yet is also able to control a large clinic group of teens--a great balance!! He knows that tennis can be a tough mental game, so he encourages the kids, keeps it positive, and gives them mental tools as well. He's been the perfect coach for our son, and we're grateful that we found him!

About

What’s Different About Us? play tennis! California is not your typical tennis academy. How? Your instructor is a current world-touring professional tennis player ambitious to be the best he can be, just like you. We blur the traditional separation between instructor and student with the understanding that this creates a potent environment for setting and reaching goals. We believe that we are all constant mutual learners. Even if your instructor happens to play the role of teacher, you as the student have much to teach the former through your views, strengths and weaknesses in the context of the game. What does this mean, practically speaking? Frederic Dewitte trains you and also trains with you, regardless of your level. Together, we can amplify improvement by acting as mirrors for each others’ tennis. By taking an active, participant role in your tennis, play tennis! California progressively shifts the paradigm of tennis instruction.
