Omg Pastor Ama was absolutely amazing!!! We had a small ceremony in the Chapel of Our Lady in Presidio and she performed such a beautiful ceremony. From the moment she got there till the end of the ceremony she handled everything perfectly and made sure our Wedding went as smooth as possible. A wedding day is something you will remember forever and the memory she has given my fiancé and I as well as our families will definitely be unforgettable. If you need someone who will take the time out to understand you, accommodate to your dreams of your wedding day and speak so beautifully then she’s the one to go to!!! I’m so grateful to have found her because I can’t say enough how wonderful she made our special day! And she throws in a few laughs too that makes you feel even more better especially when all the nerves are kicking in as you stand up in front of everyone. Thank you again Pastor Ama for all you kind words, the laughs, and creating a memorable day that captured all my dreams! :)

Nancy helped my siblings and I support our aging mother who had been suffering for quite some time with deep depression and anxiety. She established a sense of trust with our mom using kindness, genuine deep listening and she helped to normalize some of what our mom was experiencing. Nancy has not only been skillful and kind with our mom but has, when we have asked, met with us as a family to help us better understand what our mom is going through and how we can best support her and take care of ourselves as well. Nancy offered very practical suggestions too, based on her many years of experience working with middle aged and older people and their families. She advocated with medical professionals to bring an effective team together and has helped us hone our communication skills with them and with each other. I highly recommend her for both counseling and consulting how to navigate these territories of older age with consciousness, hope and peace.

Matthew has been a really great counselor to work with. He brings empathy and excitement to our relationship counseling sessions, and provides much needed insight to moments when we get caught up in our historic relational patterns. Our sessions are a good mix of hard work and play. Matthew always has ideas and exercises we can do to work with the material that arises. He is communicative and professional.

Alison is amazing! The most important things I look for in a counselor is someone who is well educated, practices what they teach and is compassionate with their clients. Alison is all of the above, she really knows her stuff, I feel safe and well attended to when she works with me and she gives me undivided attention which I always appreciate. She has an amazing way of working on emotional issues that could be holding you back from making progress in your life. She has a deep understanding of what it takes to heal and clear old material that is no longer relevant to living your best life and she guides you in a way that is kind, loving and safe. I honor her so much and feel so grateful to have her in my life!

After meeting Rev Gil and Robyn about 10 years ago, I had an intuitive knowing that Rev. Gil was to be my practitioner (spiritual counselor) and began working with him shortly thereafter. It was my first experience of working with a practitioner and, ultimately, the process was a significant contributor in my desire to pursue my own practitioner license. I found Rev. Gil to be an exceptional practitioner. He consistently acknowledged my process and journey while staying anchored in spiritual principle so I could create the shifts I was seeking. He also never hesitated to call me on my stuff, always from a place of love, so I could see how being stuck in my story was not serving me. Overall, I found the process of working with him in this way to be incredibly transformative and fundamental to my subsequent spiritual journey, so much so that I enrolled in the spiritual counselor training program myself the following fall. I worked with both Rev Gil and Robyn during my training and found them both to be wonderful mentors as I continued to explore my spiritual path. I can't recommend their work strongly enough!

I have worked with Don Waxman for almost two years and found him to be the most effective therapist I have used. Don has the ability to be empathetic and directive in a way that works for me. His use of somatic tools with me has be dramatic in my self exploration and healing. He is very knowledgeable and creative and has great set of tools to help you get to your goals.

I like to think that it's because I bring humor to my work. Humor allows us to identify difficulties or challenges apart from ourselves and have more clarity overcoming them.

        About

Within each of us abides the potential to feel good about ourselves, our work and our relationships. Tapping into this potential, accessing it and learning to apply it generously to everyday life can bring us great fulfillment and success in all of these areas. I work with my clients to determine and address the things that hinder their ability to have a lasting and true sense of well being such as stress, depression, low self-esteem, self-defeating patterns, past trauma and toxic relationships. We work together actively on turning these obstacles into new, positive behaviors and self-knowledge.

        About

I provide compassionate support and understanding in a comfortable and safe environment. I have successfully helped many people find relief from depression and anxiety and enhanced their relationships. Obstacles and challenges become opportunities for growth and fulfillment, while emotional pain and confusion become clarity and wisdom by incorporating the mind, body, and spirit in a practical approach to growth and change. Anger is transformed into compassion as we learn to see things without judgements and distortions. Fear dissolves into acceptance, allowing us to be fully alive and present to experience joy and happiness. I utilize an experiential mix of styles including cognitive behavioral, psychodynamic, humanistic and family systems, blended with mindfulness practice. The process gently but effectively enhances your capacity to enjoy life, and resolves old traumas and hidden beliefs that keep you from living as a free human being. I bring to my work years of spiritual practice and meditation, as well as my formal education in clinical psychology. In addition, I am associated with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) as both a provider educator and a family to family educator, helping mental health staff improve their skills for working with individuals and families traumatized by mental illness, and helping educate families to cope with psychiatric illness.
