Introduction: Hi, My name is Yvonne, “The Hair Wizard” as clients claim. Embraced by clients and colleagues from the East coast to the West coast, this 5’2” tall, free spirited, open-minded fashionista carries over 20 years of overwhelming knowledge, skill, and experience with hair and make-up. I am one of the fortunate souls that is able to say I truly love what I do. There is a passion within me, that drives me, that allows me to transcend into pure bliss when I am transforming a clients hair. My happy place, for lack of a better phrasing. When a client thanks me, reaches out to embrace me, and then returns to me…there aren’t words to describe the reward, the love, and the peace I experience in those moments…the icing on the cake! I whole heartedly believe my passion for hair stemmed at birth, although forcibly tamed throughout my younger years due to my Vietnamese family culture. From 1993 to 2001, I attended and graduated college specializing in hair and cosmetology, trained and practiced extensively, and discovered my possibilities for this passion in California. In 2001 I relocated to Virginia Beach, Virginia,, where I then opened my first hair salon (Cali Hair). For 6 years I continually developed as a stylist….attending hair shows and color classes, obtaining specialized training and certifications in hair extension, color, keratin, cutting, Japanese hair straightening, updo’s, make up, and so much more. My yearning to become greater only increased with time, which motivated my opening of a full service salon and spa (Salon 31st) in 2008. It was there that I submerged my gift and enhanced a very disciplined and concrete skill for hair. After being diagnosed, battling, and victoriously emerging as a breast cancer warrior in 2015, I took a step back. To breathe. To find my roots. To explore and appreciate my gift of life while spending time with family. This down time stimulated me to rediscover what my soul needs and wants to be content…….capturing the beauty and spirit within, and presenting it for the world to see through hair and make up. I am one of the fortunate souls that is able to say I truly love what I do.
