I have needed Pete's expertise on many occasions. I have a desktop computer, laptop and iPhone - he knows them all. He worlds by phone, email or in person. He has been helpful on issues with iPhoto, email, mobileme/icloud, double passwords, and a host of other things. If he doesn't have an immediate answer he has the resource. He has recovered photos from the sd card on my camera (after I deleted them from my computer) and downloaded hundreds of videos that seemed locked in my video recorder. He is constantly teaching me ways to upgrade my devices, apps I should get and software that would be helpful given my idiosyncrasies. He has come to my house the same day or the next day when it was urgent. I work from home and don't have office support. For me, not having to go to the apple store with my big desk top is worth his hourly rate.

I am an advisor to an executive in a very busy government office. I worked with Chris for several weeks on a one to one basis. He is extremely knowledgeable and professional. He provided me with tools and tips to help managing my overflowing inbox, increase my productivity and gain some peace of mind. He knows all of the new programs like Evernote, Dropbox, helped me use my new Ipad, gave me tips on how to get more out of Outlook and Word, and improve my general work flow. I highly recommend his services!

I will definitely go to Aaron in the future for my IT/tech needs. He was punctual and professional and solved several tech related issues I had in a short period of time: setup my printer to be linked to my network, reset an error coming up regarding toner, and helped with my new iPhone setup. He was well versed in teaching me regarding my devices, and I appreciate that he was efficient. Highly recommend him to others.

WeFixTech is a great technology repair company. I was responded to via email really quick. When I was responded too, they were very professional over email. They sent over someone to diagnose my PC. He was very nice and assured me my problem was a minor fix. He told me what i needed to get so that he can fix it and have it up and running in no time. 10/10 would reccomend to family and freinds!!!

About

Hello, my name is Trey Franco, and I believe my passion for technology can get you through the situation you are having. I have been doing technology repairs, swaps, diagnostics and re-images for over 3 years now. I have studied a variety of different technologies to keep up with the growing industry. In the education department, I attended CCOC which is known as the Central County Occupation Center. I learned all about Windows and the operating system itself inside and out as well as work in the Mouse Squad department where we worked on computers that were brought in to us by users who need a technician's help to fix their computers problem. Not only did we get the chance to do that, but we also study and got the chance to earn our CompTIA A+ certification, which I received and passed the first try. After I grew from that experience, I wanted to take what I learned and expand and see where it can take me, and that's when looking around I found out about the YearUp program. I studied for 5 months and five days a week, earning college IT credits and going through all sorts of training, so I can be properly trained and ready to be put in a 6-month internship at one of the top technology companies, Mozilla FireFox. While there, I got the opportunity to learn the heart of the company, The Data Center from top to bottom, including racking, stacking and cabling the systems as well as entering the IP information into the nodes while also learning about the ILO system (integrated lights out). I am also adding it into inventory and organizing everything. After my time at Mozilla, I transferred over to one of the top investment companies doing help desk work for them such as setting up accounts and making sure all the departments knew of new hires as well as answering calls from employees and helping them fix their computer problems. I believe the opportunities I have been given the past 4 years and the hard work I have put into it made me learn so much about the technology world. I believe I could be of great assistance to you.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to fix an iPhone screen?

A broken iPhone screen doesn’t have to mean shelling out major money for a new phone. iPhone repair is an easy solution for a cracked or damaged iPhone screen that will have it looking as good as new in no time. The size of your iPhone will affect screen cost. Another factor that affects iPhone repair cost is whether you want to have your LCD repaired or replaced at the same time that you have your screen fixed. If you have AppleCare (Apple’s insurance), screen repair costs an additional $29 fee. Prices for Apple’s screen repair without AppleCare coverage vary based on your screen size. Here are some examples of average cost from less expensive third-party providers:

  • iPhone 5/5S/5C: $75, full screen replacement including the LCD and digitizer.
  • iPhone SE: $124.99, full screen replacement including the LCD and digitizer.
  • iPhone 6: $99.99, full screen replacement including the LCD and digitizer.
  • iPhone 6 Plus/6S: $125, full screen replacement including the LCD and digitizer.
  • iPhone 7/7 Plus: $174.99, full screen replacement including the LCD and digitizer.
  • iPhone 4/4S: $70, glass and LCD repair.
  • iPhone 5/5S/5C: $80, glass and LCD repair.
  • iPhone SE: $80, glass and LCD repair.
  • iPhone 6: $90, glass and LCD repair.
  • iPhone 6 Plus: $100, glass and LCD repair.
  • iPhone 6S: $110, glass and LCD repair.
  • iPhone 6S Plus: $130, glass and LCD repair.

How much does it cost to replace the screen on an iPhone 6?

An iPhone screen can crack fairly easily, so it’s always recommended to use a shock-absorbing case and a tempered glass screen protector to help keep your investment safe. Replacing the screen on your iPhone 6 will vary in price depending on which iPhone 6 model you have and who provides the repair. Third-party vendors provide lower-cost service than Apple for iPhone repair, unless you have Apple’s product insurance, AppleCare. Here are some examples of iPhone 6 screen and LCD average repair costs from third-party providers:

  • iPhone 6: $90.
  • iPhone 6 Plus: $100.
  • iPhone 6S: $110.
  • iPhone 6S Plus: $130.

You may prefer to have your iPhone repaired by Apple. If you have AppleCare, your screen repair cost will be $29, but if you don’t have this coverage, iPhone repair will cost more from Apple than from a third-party vendor. Here are some examples of average iPhone screen repair cost when provided by Apple without AppleCare:

  • iPhone 6: $129.
  • iPhone 6 Plus: $149.
  • iPhone 6s: $149.
  • iPhone 6s Plus: $169.

The average national cost for an iPhone technician is $80-$100 per hour

How much is it to fix a water-damaged iPhone?

If your iPhone has been damaged by water, there’s still hope. It often costs less to repair an iPhone than to buy a new phone, and you can save your contacts, photos and other stored data. If you have AppleCare, the extended warranty provided by Apple, your coverage includes two incidents of accidental damage for repair at the rates listed below. Using a third-party provider can save you money; however, once an outside vendor has done work on your phone, your warranty may be voided and Apple may no longer provide service for your phone. Here are Apple’s charges for iPhone repair for water damage (classified as “other damage” on their website):

  • iPhone X: $549.
  • iPhone 8 Plus: $399.
  • iPhone 8: $349.
  • iPhone 7 Plus: $349.
  • iPhone 7: $319.
  • iPhone 6s Plus: $329.
  • iPhone 6 Plus: $329.
  • iPhone 6s: $299.
  • iPhone 6: $299.
  • iPhone SE: $269.
  • iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5: $269.
  • iPhone 4s: $199.
  • iPhone 4: $149.
  • iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G: $149.

How much does it cost to fix the Home button on an iPhone?

If the Home button on your iPhone has stopped working, it might be time for professional help. If your Home button problem is caused by a faulty product and you’re under warranty, the repair will be free. However, if you (or your dog who stepped on the phone) are the culprit, there will be a fee for repair. iPhone repair costs will vary depending on the model of your phone, who is providing the service, and whether your phone is under warranty or you have the extended warranty called AppleCare. If Apple repairs an iPhone that is out of warranty, the cost will be higher than from a third-party provider. One reason to consider paying more for repair by Apple is that using an outside service for repairs can sometimes void other Apple warranties that are in effect for your iPhone. Home button repair falls under Apple’s “other damage” repair pricing category, which costs a flat fee of $99 under AppleCare. If your phone is out of warranty, here are some of the average prices you can expect to pay to repair a Home button:

  • iPhone 8 Plus: $399.
  • iPhone 8: $349.
  • iPhone 7 Plus: $349.
  • iPhone 7: $319.
  • iPhone 6s Plus: $329.
  • iPhone 6 Plus: $329.
  • iPhone 6s: $299.
  • iPhone 6: $299.
  • iPhone SE: $269.
  • iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5: $269.
  • iPhone 4s: $199.
  • iPhone 4: $149.
  • iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G: $149.
