Josh is a excellent trainer. He is truly knowledgeable at his craft and I highly recommend him as a personal trainer. I am an avid marathon runner who hadn't PRd in years until I started training with Josh. He is not a staple in my annual training program for that extra push. To top it off, Josh is professional, punctual, fun to work with and goes above and beyond for his clients.Aug 20, 2020
I worked with a trainer once a week for a year and half prior to meeting Josh. I noticed some transformation in that year and half but my biggest change was when Josh took me on as a client. He upped my training to a whole new level and made sure I was dripping in sweat at the beginning of every session. He makes the works out fun, entertaining and before you know it our hour is up. A little over a month into his program it started out rough as I ran into some health issues which halted our process for 3 months. During the time frame Josh continuously checked in to see how I was doing and when I was cleared to work out again that he was there for whenever I was ready to come back and train. Once I was FINALLY cleared we met once a week to start off slow and helped me get back to the basics. During that time he had made a work out plan to follow 3-4 days a week that we didn't meet. After a month we started to incorporate diet changes with my work outs. After about 3 months I was 15 lbs down, dropping 1-2 size in clothes, and noticing muscle definition I hadn't seen in years. Shortly after my amazing transformation I got into a relationship and fell off my route as people do when they get comfortable. I had put all the weight back on, but then with a heart break, pandemic, and going through a hormone cycle for fertility preservation (freeze my eggs) I put on even more weight. Josh has since helped me snap out of my funk. He has helped me regain my focus. I have start tracking my food in take again and follow a work out plan. Josh has continuously been my cheerleader even when I was lost and just not feeling happy about myself. He has never given up on me and knew I would find my way back eventually but not before he challenged me to really think about my goals and what am I going to do to get there. Josh has been one of the best things that has happened to me. He has helped me learn to live a better life style, but also helped "Krista get her groove back." I have started to regain my confidence again, something I had lost several years ago. I didn't expect to get to where I am in life and as quickly but as the weeks go on I continuously see progress being made. I couldn't and I wouldn't have been able to do it without his amazing knowledge and skills. Not only did I gain a great trainer, but a friend and confidant.Aug 24, 2020
Joshua is the best coach I have had in my life. Before I started training with Joshua, I exercised on my own without a defined goal. It was a lot of running, push-ups, burpees, pull-ups, and exercises I found on youtube. (I didn't know where to start with squats, so I just didn't do them). I pushed myself hard, but I lacked the fundamentals, and I was not making progress. Despite exercising 3-4 times a week, my strength and mobility were not improving. In my first session, Joshua assessed my movements, my push-ups, and my balance. Then he spoke with me about my goals and tailored a program designed for me. I wanted to increase my strength and mobility. Over the next few months, I learned that I had done thousands of exercises wrong. Hence my lack of progress despite my discipline. The best part was that Joshua slowly taught me how to do the exercises correctly, increasing my strength, and protecting me from injury. His direction is easy to understand and execute, and the movements become natural. I just passed the one-year mark of working with Joshua. Today, at 41 years old, I am stronger and have better mobility than ever. Joshua has guided me from churn to progress.Aug 23, 2020
I have been training with Josh for over two years focusing on Olympic Weightlifting. I struggled to go to the gym for many years before training with Josh. He is encouraging, mindful of your body, and I see results, which is what drives me to keep training with him. I am stubborn and am not very receptive to feedback, but Josh has found a way to provide feedback that I interpret in a positive manner and am able to instantly apply in my next set. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a trainer.Aug 22, 2020
I've worked with many trainers, both directly as a client and as colleagues while working at a gym. I can safely say Josh is one of the best trainers I know. One word I'd use to describe him is knowledgable. He has tons of information and is able to translate it to me, so I understand HOW to properly execute my movements, as well as WHY I am doing them. As a dancer, I find myself challenged with completing certain movements. He can take that movement, break it down, and provide me with exercises I can do to strengthen different areas eventually allowing me to successfully execute said movements. Added bonus, he's pretty funny, so our sessions are always a good time.Aug 19, 2020
- How did you get started doing this type of work? After graduating from college I wanted to be in a field where I can apply my knowledge in kinesiology and help people. Personal training at the time fit and since then I haven’t turned back.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work? When hiring a personal trainer they should always take the time to conduct a consult to learn more about you, your lifestyle and your goals. They should also conduct a movement assessment to learn about your current capabilities and restrictions. It more a matter of safety and to establish a starting point. Last but not least they should provide a summary of a complete program for you. These are my 3 non negotiable when it comes to beginning a new client’s fitness journey.
