I just started taking private swing dance lessons with Erin and she is wonderful to work with. She has a great practice space near Forest Hill station, that has a large parking lot as well. I am by no means a naturally gifted dancer, but she is patient and very good at breaking down the steps and explaining them in ways that I can understand. I am so excited to continue working with here!
Carolyn is a fantastic dance instructor. She is friendly, patient and understanding. She makes a genuine effort to understand you and then customizes the dance syllabus as per one's comfort. So far, I have taken over 15 lessons and have never been disappointed!
She's an experienced teacher--warm, friendly and unintimidating. (Did I mention that she cracks jokes? It takes the edge off, which is a godsend for a nervous beginner like me.) She helped me work out dance moves for my wedding. Now I'm taking personal rumba lessons. I also enjoy Metronome, the dance studio where she teaches, which is in an old, Italian social club in Potrero. I recommend Emily for anyone who wants to take dance lessons, from salsa to ballroom.
We've been taking weekly ballroom lessons. Dina's been very helpful and patient.
I don't recall now how I found Desiree but I'm so glad I did! My fiancee did NOT want to do a choreographed wedding dance, but I wanted to have at least part of the dance memorized so we knew when the transitions and dips were. We had a few lessons with Desiree, perhaps at least 5, and Desiree was super welcoming, friendly, and easy to work with. We easily got along with her, which made being her students that much easier. We had a say into how the dance would look like and she styled it with an expert's eye. My fiancee and I had taken salsa classes at CCSF so we were a little bit better than beginners. She took what the moves that he knew and worked with it. We had picked a song we both liked but it had faster beginning so she taught us Bachata and transitioned into Salsa. She also edited the song for us so that the DJ could pay the clip at the wedding. During our class, she took videos with us so that we could watch it later and see how we could improve. She also helped us with the entrance into the room and the ending. I would definitely recommend her!
I had 4 Salsa lessons with Marge so far. This is not my first time dancing Salsa, which makes things progress quickly. She has a great way of explaining steps and rhythm, so that it is easy for me to follow and remember. Also, she is very friendly and goes the extra mile to help and advise me. I look forward to more lessons with her!
Excellent instructor who really went the extra mile to teach salsa to novice dancers at our Cinco de Mayo party.
My church wanted to do a program of three Latin Dance lessons over the course of a month. We looked for somebody to do this and we found the most marvelous teacher --- Ruth Caspary of Latin Connection Dance. First of all, she was really professional and easy to plan with. And she had good suggestions for the planning. We were able to fit in bachata, salsa, and American tango. Super! Second, she came on site (we have a great space with a wooden floor) with her equipment and music and was ready to teach. Third, she is a super teacher. She accounted for each person's abilities and was energetic and generous with her time. We all learned a lot and had great fun, too. Last, but not least, she is social and friendly, a good conversationalist as well as a great teacher. There's no question who we'd go to in the future.
These were my first voice lessons ever. Lessons are fun. Deborah has lots of helpful advice and encouragement.
Caterina is an outstanding personal trainer. She adapts each training session to my capabilities and goals. She is very encouraging and motivating, which pushes me to surpass my expectations. She incorporates her dance experience to make the workouts fun and challenging. She has adapted exercises to improve my balance and stability. She is a delightful trainer to work with. I look forward to each training session.
Walter is a wonderful dance instructor. When I started learning dance, I was a complete novice. Walter structured my lessons in a sequential fashion that gradually built my skills to what some label "silver" level enjoyment. I especially like the way Walter took MY goals into consideration. I did not wish to compete, but to become a better than average dancer, focused mostly on smooth dance and some light rhythm, so that I might enjoy social dance opportunities. My weekly dance lessons have become the highlight of my week! 💃
Professional and great dance instructors. They provide excellent dance lessons and easy to learn.
Nikolai is my Latin dance teacher and I have been dancing with him since January 2018. In a short amount of time, I have improved my dancing so much that we competed at the San Francisco Open in April 2018 on the Open Silver category earning 1st places in all single dances (chacha, samba, rumba, pasodoble and jive). Nik is an expert dance teacher who has great knowledge and enthusiasm. He is patient and gives just the right level of instruction and correction. I enjoyed every dance lesson with Nik and I highly recommend him.
I loved Sarah, she is an amazing teacher for my 10 year old daughter. Her energy is infectious, she's so good with kids. Really she's just such a people person. I really like that she is still competing and continuing to get lessons with international coaches. My daughter is getting international ballroom and latin training without having to travel overseas. Love her!
I love Hebert's passion, instinct ability, and charm- a great combination for a positive dance lesson experience. Both my husband and I enjoyed our interaction with Hebert.
Sam is a great teacher and a master of tap dance. You could probably find teachers for swing dance, Sasa or Samba easily, but not with Tap Dance. Sam is the one. My husband and I decided to do some tap dance for our wedding banquet but we had no experience with tap dancing. We came up with this idea less than a month before the wedding so we weren't really sure whether we would be able to make it. It all changed with Sam's help and instructions. Sam did a great job teaching us from the basics and quickly come up with a choreography that works with the song we'd like to dance to. After 2-3 lessons, we were able to manage the dance - all thanks to Sam's great mastery of tap dancing, careful instructions and patience. Thanks so much Sam - for the patience and wonderful teaching!
I have a student-centered approach, which involves being attentive to how the person learns and the caring for focus of their intentions -- what they hope to learn. I've been teaching private guitar lessons 'formally' since 2001, shortly after graduating from the Musicians Institute's professional guitar and recording arts programs. During the last six years, I have also been an instructor of music theory for audio engineering students as well as for students of psychoacoustics at the Globe Institute in San Francisco. This is college-level music theory presented in a condensed format with specific applications in mind. Myriads of nationalities, cultures, ages, genders and musical backgrounds accompany the people who make up those classes, and they have helped me develop the skill for relating this material to all manner of people simultaneously. As a result, my one-on-one classes are even more enriched. My goal is to help you reach your goals in the most simple and joyful manner. The basics of what I offer are as follows: * Guitar -- Most Styles, Beginner and Intermediate * Recording Software -- Logic, Ableton, Native Instruments, Etc. * Music Theory -- Beginner and Intermediate * Ear Training * Composition * Songwriting * Audio Engineering/Production -- Beginner * Inner Music Theory -- A Psychoacoustic/Sound Healing Approach * Piano -- Beginner I also offer a generalized musician package in which any or all of what I teach is thoughtfully organized for your goals. Included are basic vocal coaching, percussion rudiments and loads of other pertinent basics.
My goal is to be able to get my students comfortable dancing at social events. I help students get in tune with their bodies and the music. Groove, musicality, creativity, and expression are core values I teach. I am able to teach choreography and freestyle.
