Excellent design/build shop. They are very good at what they do. You will pay for it, but you also get what you pay for with home remodels.Dec 22, 2017
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? Our firm uses advanced budgeting and tracking tools, including our proprietary Design-Build Calculator, a sophisticated budgeting, bidding and project management system that we have developed and refined over more than two decades. This software tool allows us instantly estimate every single potential line item against project's budget criteria, and also provides our team and clients with an advanced planning tool for estimating the impact of different design scenarios, with immediate access to every line item associated with a given project.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? We typically start with a free Initial Design Consultation. We want to get to know you and your home or commercial space and hear from you what your needs and desires are. Then we’ll talk about possibilities, challenges, and opportunities. By the time we’re done, you’ll have a pretty good idea of what’s possible within your budget. We believe that getting the budget out in front, driving the design process (rather than the other way around) is the best way to do design. We’ll also review the Pre-Construction Process – everything that has to happen between today and the first day of on-site construction on your project. This includes Creative Design, Costing and Value Planning, Engineering (if needed), Permits, Plans, etc. We want you to understand and be comfortable with the whole process before we begin.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?Hire a Design-Build firm. Design-Build is using one firm to provide both functions, from dreaming of what could be to walking into the finished product. The Design-Build philosophy is so influential that virtually all commercial and public works projects are now done this way. This business model is now making its way into residential projects, especially by contractors skilled at information management. By running both processes concurrently with the same firm, you ensure that what you’re designing is what you’ll build, and the construction process goes smooth with a minimum of change orders.
