Greenside arrived on-time and were very polite. Job was well done except that they did not clean the carpet under an area rug.

After being stood up by another carpet cleaning company, I was in a real time crunch to get the rug ready to move in. After explaining this to Kevin from So Cal Eco Cleaning, he graciously fit me into his weekend plans the following day. He was professional, friendly, and did a great job on the rug. The thing I have to say that I liked the most about Kevin was his honesty. He was upfront about the cost and did not try to haggle prices; something I have experienced in the past with different carpet cleaners (most would not give me a quote until they saw the area). Kevin's price was set regardless of type of rug or stain, and I appreciated knowing what I would be paying when hiring Kevin. I would most definitely recommend him and his services to my friends and family.

We found ourselves in a time crunch, where we were moving out of our house and into a new one, with an incoming renter moving in sooner than anticipated. Lucy's was quick to reply, communicated clearly, accommodated our needs, and did excellent work. The cleaning exceeded my expectations, leaving the house ready for the carpet cleaners and painters to come in next. Thank you!

They left a few things less than 100% (missed dusting part of dresser; one rug wasn't vacuumed as I can still see some pet hair). That said - they did a great job overall (used the same Bona products on our hardwood that I usually do which pleased me) - and even cleaned inside the ovens and the refrigerator. I'm pretty picky :) but thought it was a good job (and honestly - I can deep clean those few things I'm extra focused on). My husband thought they did a great job - and he also appreciates a clean house. I'll have them back regularly - particularly while limitations after surgery for one of us and heavy work schedule for the other making housework challenging to keep up with!

Ed and his son were absolutely wonderful. He showed up on time, my carpets and rug look brand new and his price was very fair and competitive. It also is a bonus to have someone in your home who has an awesome personality and character. I️ will only be hiring Ed in the future.

Great follow up after I agreed to his service. He called repeatedly to make an appointment with me. I couldn't schedule him for over a month, but as soon as I had some time, he came right out and did the job beautifully. Two bedrooms of carpet, an area rug and my couch are all looking great!

I would recommend this carpet cleaner..they did a great job and they were reasonable in pricing! I did not feel ripped off like other carpet cleaners..they were professional too..I liked that they moved the furniture around to clean all areas...most companies don’t want to go the extra mile to do a great job..

I utilized Tomazin Carpet Cleaners to clean and seal the grout and tiles in my home. Additionally, I also had them deep clean my carpeted staircase. Very professional and impressive work ethic. Ending result was even more impressive. Looks brand new. If you need this type of work done, look no further.

I was initially hesitant about using someone I found through the site. But after reading the profile and speaking with the owner on the phone, I was at ease. The response was prompt and I was not charged more than my estimate I recived over the phone like I had been with other carpet cleaners in the past. There were some tough stains on my cream colored carpet from my puppy and my 4 year old and also an odor that i was both embarrassed and irritated. I was thoroughly happy with the results of the service! From the way the carpet looked to the professionalism of the company. This is definitely a company I will be using again! I would recommend anyone that's looking to beautify their carpets to use Tykoon.

This is the 4th time we use Jay and we are absolutely pleased to write this review for him. He uses safe soap to clean the carpet (that he makes himself) and we appreciate his quality of work. His prices are well worth it and I wouldn’t use anyone else. We found him on Yelp and he has been our go to ever since. I’ll post a picture of the after but I won’t post a before picture becuase it’s embarrassing. I definitely recommend him.

This is the cleanest I've ever seen a carpet after a service. The technician was friendly, courteous, and respectful of my furniture and space. I've been told by many other carpet cleaners that most of the traffic stains were just not going to come out. Au contrer--Oxi Fresh has a very simple but great technology. And much of the carpet was dry in an hour but for a few of those 'traffic' places which he worked longer on, but still it dried faster than other companies. I can't recommend them enough.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

Who cleans area rugs?

Like your carpets, area rugs should ideally be cleaned at least once a year to remove dust and dirt and help them last longer. In general, carpet cleaning professionals also clean area rugs. Some rug cleaners bring their cleaning equipment to your home, while others remove your area rugs and clean them at their facilities. Either way, the rug should be cleaned with the solution most appropriate to its specific fabric and construction. It should also be completely dry before you return it to the floor.

How often should carpets be steam cleaned?

Dirty carpets can be unhealthy for the people living in the home, particularly those who have allergies, so it’s important to have them cleaned regularly; simply vacuuming once or twice a week isn’t enough. Carpet cleaning should be done by a professional carpet cleaning service at least once a year to remove grime and help extend the life of your carpet. Most carpet manufacturers recommend professional steam cleaning, which penetrates deep into the carpet fibers and lifts out both dirt and the pollutants that get tracked inside. Steam cleaning also removes most of the moisture, so carpets dry quickly enough for homeowners to resume using them the same day. Between professional carpet cleanings, your carpet may need an emergency spot cleaning. Pet accidents, food or drink spills, and more can often be effectively cleaned with some water and a drop of white vinegar, although many cleaners will also make house calls for smaller spills and hard-to-clean spots like wine or grease stains.

How much does it cost to clean a rug?

Area rugs are typically found in high-traffic areas of the home, like hallways and entryways, so they collect more dirt and stains than simple vacuuming can handle. Similar to carpet cleaning, professionals can come to your home to deep-clean your area rugs. The national average cost for rug cleaning ranges from $80 to $120, but may be higher or lower depending on the rug’s size and fiber type. Rug cleaners generally charge by the square foot; for example, a standard 8-foot by 10-foot rug costs an average of $100 to clean. Natural fiber rugs, such as wool or silk, are usually more expensive to have cleaned than synthetic rugs. A carpeting cleaning company may charge on average $1.50 per square foot to clean a synthetic rug, $2 per square foot for a wool rug, and $3 per square foot for a silk rug. Some delicate rugs need to be washed by hand, which increases the price. Carpet cleaning companies often offer additional services, such as removing odors or applying moth deterrent, which can add 20 cents to 25 cents per square foot.

How do you find a good carpet cleaning company?

Regular professional carpet cleaning can both extend the life of your carpet and remove harmful pollutants from your home. Finding a good carpet cleaning company is an important aspect of home maintenance. When choosing a carpet cleaner, consider these top three questions:

  • What method of carpet cleaning do you prefer? Steam cleaning is an increasingly popular method because it’s thorough and safe, and dries quickly enough for you to return to your home the same day the carpets are cleaned.
  • Have you checked the company’s references? Most cities are home to several carpet cleaning companies, so it’s a good idea to check their reviews and references. Look for references from people in your neighborhood with homes similar to yours.
  • What’s included in the base price? What other services does the carpet cleaning company offer? Some companies will move furniture for you, while others charge a fee for it. Some include stairs in the cost of the home’s cleaning, while others charge per step.

What does carpet cleaning cost?

National average carpet cleaning prices range between $100 and $130. Carpet cleaning prices depend on how many square feet of carpet you want cleaned, how many rooms in one house or building will be cleaned, how stained your carpet is, how much the carpet cleaning company charges, your ZIP code, and the type of carpet you have. Cost per square foot can range from 20 cents to $1 or more, based on the above variables. Synthetic carpets are typically the least expensive to clean; natural fibers like wool cost more, as they require more care and attention, as well as more drying time. Excessive stains, challenging locations such as stairs, and accessibility also factor into your carpet cleaning price. Companies may charge a minimum service fee for cleaning a small carpet to cover their business expenses (paying employees, transporting the special equipment to your home). If your pet has repeatedly saturated the carpet with urine or if the fibers are extremely matted down, it may make more sense to completely replace your carpet than to continue to have it cleaned.
