FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I Attended the New England Conservatory of Music and Purchase College of Music, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in music. I continue to practice everyday, studying new styles of music and beats from different cultures. My students always keep me on my toes. One day, I might be teaching a student a jazz solo or comping ideas from Max Roach or Billy Higgins, a death metal song, a Beatles, Rush, or Rolling Stones classic, a new rhythm from Cuba or Brazil, or a new pop or hip hop song from One Direction or Jay-Z. It is great to teach someone a song that they love and want to learn, and it helps me grow as a musician and teacher.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
When I was in college at the New England Conservatory I had a great opportunity to teach at the preparatory school. I was fortunate to work with several graduate students as a freshman in a grogram that taught and worked with high school students. I learned so much from the experience and realized how much I love to teach and help other musicians learn the wonderful craft of drumming.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I offer drum lessons with three different options. 1. Lessons in my studio in Santa Ana. 2. Lessons in your home. 3. Lessons via Skype.
