FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Prices vary greatly with the nature of the case. In criminal cases, the charges determine the amount of the flat fee Flat fees are charged for work through a certain point before trial, and then additional fees are charged if the case goes beyond that point. In civil matters, I generally charge by the hour, with a standard rate of $200 per hour, although my rate can be negotiated.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes. Like all attorneys, I take continuing education courses. I also review the latest cases filed in the California Supreme Court, the Ninth Circuit, and the Supreme Court almost daily.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have had an interest in politics from a very early age. In graduate school, I discovered during the confirmation hearings for a controversial candidate, the legal issues that were being discussed engaged me. I have enjoyed reading the law and writing about it ever since.
