Introduction: I have studied and played guitar my whole life. Besides playing professionally, I have also received my AA from Valley College, my BM from CSUN in classical guitar performance, and my MFA from Cal Arts in electric guitar performance and composition. My knowledge is vast and wide, my technical understanding is refined, and my patience is un matched. I am generous with my time, and I go the extra mile to help my students succeed. I taught evening classes for L.A. Mission College in Classical guitar, Blues, Rock, Pop, as well as kids classes for 10 years and made friends I still keep up with. I enjoy meeting people in my community. I have friendships that I have made with students and parents that have lasted many years. Helping people achieve their dreams of making and recording music is my job. Teaching music at a special ed. high school for ten years taught me patience and gave me more strategies to help reach any student. Since moving to Santa Barbara I have taught for LOUD Program, teaching after school rock band classes in Elementary and Jr. High. This is a very rewarding job, and I am grateful to have it, as it lets me make a direct investment to my community.

I've been taking Kung Fu lessons from Xander for the last 6 years. He takes the time to teach me the true Kung Fu. Unlike other Kung Fu teachers that just care about the money. He has taken me from not knowing how to fight at all and taught me how to fight very well. I have also taken music lesson from Xander. He is exceptionally knowledgeable on the subject. If you want a true teacher call Xander!

Xander is the man, I have been taking lessons with him since I was a child. He has been more than just a music teacher for me, also has been a friend and mentor. The lengths Xander goes for his students is exceptional and the reason I keep going from LA to Santa Barbra for lessons.

Masters Fine Arts degree from California Institute of the Arts in Performance and Composition for Electric Guitar. Bachelors of Music from Cal State Northridge in Classical Guitar Performance A A from LA Valley College, classical and commercial composition and performance, arranging, studio recording.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
It grew with my professional work. Students want to take lessons from a real guitar player. I have worked in many styles and have a broad understanding on how music gets made. My experience and patience serve my students well. As years have passed I have received much praise for my work with students
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
Producing Duh Professors second album has been a lot of fun. After recording, mixing, and mastering I have gotten to be in the videos. Big fun.
