Introduction: I'm currently teaching remote lessons from Santa Barbara, CA and look forward to offering in-person lessons when it becomes safe to do so! I first started teaching while I was in college pursuing my own studies in violin performance and have been doing it ever since, both in my own studio and through local music education programs. I love seeing my students progress with patient guidance and steady encouragement. My favorite thing is seeing a student's face light up with joy as they are able to play something that was previously too difficult! I am currently offering virtual lessons through Zoom, Facetime, Skype, etc. and happy to be flexible about choice of platform to accommodate what you are more familiar and comfortable using.

Delaney R.

I learned from her for two years and I absolutely loved it! It was so fun and I liked how we were able to pick out songs that we liked. She was super easygoing and I really enjoyed her as a teacher.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

My standard rates are $65 for an hour lesson and $55 for 45 minutes. Package discounts are available when booking multiple lessons and for siblings. Dedicated students experiencing financial hardship may qualify for scholarship rates.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

During the first few lessons I get to know the student's personality and background and together we develop learning and practice goals and choose music to work on based on the student's level and preference. I will then supplement that with exercises designed to improve particular skills and develop the student's confidence so they can have more fun with the violin!

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

My training began with piano and violin lessons in early childhood and includes a Bachelor of Music and a Master of Music degree in Violin Performance. I have 10 years of experience teaching private lessons to students of various ages, as well as teaching group classes and leading youth orchestra rehearsals. I am also a teaching artist for local music education programs, and perform with various orchestras and groups in the area.
