Dr. Loretta Redd, Wedding Officiant

About this pro
Marriage transforms people- and your ceremony should be equally as meaningful. The text of your marriage should be as moving and memorable as the setting you've chosen or the closest friends and family by your side. I love 'meeting' you, whether in person, by phone or computer, and hearing your story. Then I write and send a 'first draft' for you to review, making whatever changes you wish. Regardless of the number of guests, the color pallet or floral arrangements, it is the words of the ceremony that create the bond, the vows, the promises that will last a lifetime. Being a wedding Officiant is the happiest occupation imaginable. A lifetime of experience as a writer, public speaker and counselor enables me to create and perform a meaningful and personal ceremony. Is a great privilege to literally change people's lives.
Customers rated this pro highly for punctuality, work quality, and professionalism.

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? My pricing depends on distance for travel, the two dates for both rehearsal and wedding, and some personal factors, such as my service to fellow veterans or to those in need of an officiant on a very short time line.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I want my couples to participate in creating their ceremony. I will send the Order of Ceremony outline by email, then schedule a meeting or call to discuss the components and to learn more about their journey. If hired, I write and send a draft of the ceremony until the couple feels it is a perfect reflection of their connection.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?Although I have a PhD in psychology, and a certificate in executive coaching, I do not see being a wedding Officiant as a 'counseling' position, although I have always eager to support the couple through any moments of trepidation.
