My son is about to graduate from college and with today’s competing job market, I wanted to make sure he started off on the right foot with a good solid job resume. Let’s face it, at 21, the most experience these young adults have in the workforce is limited at best and it’s hard to compete when you can’t translate your skills to real tangible experience. So I began my hunt to find a service that could help me build a resume that could showcase his skills and make him marketable. I did a search on Google and came across a website called “Thumbtack”. Thumbtack asks you to describe your project and they go out and find companies that can provide the service you’re looking for. Low and behold, I was sent 10 or more different companies along with quotes to review. I was immediately drawn to “The Edit Guru”. Rebecca is the owner and was not only very responsive, but she went the extra mile and handled every single little detail from the cover letter, to resume, and finally to his LinkedIn profile. She actually created a new profile for him! My biggest fear throughout this process was that my son would be shy and not great at talking about himself, but with Rebecca’s background and experience, my fears were put to rest.
