Rebecca assisted me in rewriting my resume and was amazing. Her prices were competitive and she works very quickly. In the time it took for her to send me my first draft the other resume writers were still trying to determine a quote. Rebecca did a great job completely overhauling my resume while still taking my comments/requests into account. She understood and implemented exactly what I was looking for. Her knowledge of job search and resume writing is unsurpassed.

Working with Sangeeta was a dream come true! Throughout the entire week or so that we revised and edited my senior thesis, she was almost always available, present, committed, and encouraging. I had no idea how genuinely engaged she would be when she offered to assist me. Finishing the project was stressful. I am a perfectionist. But my worries were reduced because of her. I cannot say how many times she wrote and responded to my Thumbtack messages and emails, reviewing 30,000 words more than once. I highly recommend Sangeeta, and, if you have questions, write her. I am sure that her way of going above and beyond will show in her response. Good luck with your project! :)

I’ve always had a fear of stepping out on my creative journey due to the thought of failure; working with Tony helped me get over that. Now I’m in the beginning stages of writing my first poetry book and starting up a jewelry business. I would have never been able to do that without Tony’s support.

Julian is a thorough editor with a keen eye for detail. He has edited everything from essays to manuscripts for me and has taken my work from good to great. He is proficient at syntactical and grammatical feedback, but he has offered developmental and global insights on my work that ultimately made it publishable. I am always recommending Julian and his writing services to my friends, and I will continue to use Julian for all my writing projects in the future.

I've been CEO of my late husband's SaaS business for the last ten years. As such, it's been a long time since I've written a resume. I was in total chaos selling my business and looking for a new career. Brian, helped me layout all the responsibilities and positions that I preformed during my tenure at the software company along with my own 20 years in the hospitality industry. Brian was great to work. He is warm and well versed in career coaching, resume writing and helpful hints on interviewing. His process consisting of a two hour interview, a follow-up review session, and as many drafts and edits as needed. I also had him re-create my LinkedIn profile, cover letter, and recommended resources for successful interviews. The end product was excellent and concise. His rates are reasonable,. He is a talented man with a wealth of experience. I recommend him. I've already gotten two interviews in one week.

Evelyn didn’t just write my resume. She helped me understand what someone reading my resume who didn’t know me would want to see, and what wasn’t necessary to put in. She got me to rethink how I viewed myself and my contributions at work. I am also glad I went with someone local rather than some big resume place because it was more personal and she took the time to get to know me as a person, even though we did everything online and on the phone. I got the job, and the person interviewing me even complemented me on my resume. I’ve recommended her to others and will continue to do so

Strategic, smart and well composed, she is always one step ahead as she is continuously thinking about the big picture, the overarching consumer experience and brand voice. What other service providers can tell you to ditch the boyfriend and take that trip to Paris!? White Light Energy Tarot Reader Rachael J uses channeling and years of professional public speaking to entertain both crowds and individuals with guided messages from spirit. She uses only white light which means party participants are safe from receiving vengeful messages from dead relatives and in-laws. Only messages of love and light are welcome. She offers life guidance using tarot cards in the areas of Life Purpose, Love, & Money. Due to free will contracts with spirit she is unable to share winning lotto numbers at this time. Individual readings in a space set aside last on average 5 minutes so as many people can experience her mystical guidance. Book Rachael to offer a truly unique departing gift for guests; guided messages from spirit! Rachael receives divine message in 3 different forms: 1.EMPATHICALLY – As an empath Rachael experiences the emotions you feel on a particular issue through her body bringing to surface messages for you. When Rachael creates the intention to receive messages she begins taking on certain characteristics of your energy in a way that she will understand and interpret. She feels your emotions around a particular issue, body pain associated with a block, excitement, and even tension. For example she may notice discomfort develop in her throat and your reading will later reveal that there is something very specific you need to speak up and say to feel relief like you can't stand your mother. Another example is if you have a loved one who has crossed over as spirit, often their love for you overwhelms Rachael to cry. 2.IMAGES/PICTURES – Rachael uses images she receives during a channel in her third eye to interpret message about your life. These detailed pictures and images during the reading that at first may seem bizarre and unrelated. However, later will reveal deep meaning during the reading. An example is if Rachael see’s a chandelier during your reading. It may not make sense until you walk into a house where you notice a chandelier that you would have never noticed and then suddenly remember that it came up in your reading. 3.THOUGHTS – Rachael receives messages from guides in the form of random thoughts that she normally would not know to ask. How she knows they are divinely guided and not making anything up is it will reveal some detail of your life that really resonates with your current situation. For example Rachael may urge you to release the past, out with the old and in with the new. And the first thought to pop in your head after she says that is a relationship that you know deep down that hasn’t been really been working. Rachael invites your guides to simply communicate with her guides in providing messages that you are ready to receive. She uses a one of kind unique 4 card deck spread to receive messages from divine guidance about your life. She is life of the party or available one on one.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How do you hire a good grant writer?

Grants are available to nonprofit organizations, for-profit businesses that qualify for government grants, and individuals who qualify for foundation or government grants. Hiring a good grant writer can help you gain funding in your chosen field. According to the American Grant Writers’ Association, grant writers can help you research potential grant opportunities; write grant proposals, create budgets, and build budget narratives; review written materials before you submit; prepare a business plan; analyze your organization for grant competitive qualities; prepare research grants; help with 501(c)(3) applications for nonprofits; and more. Investing in the right grant writer could result in a financial win for your organization. Generally no licenses or certificates are required to be a good grant writer, but you may want to find a grant writer who has been certified (not just received a certificate of completion) by a reputable organization such as the Grant Professionals Certification Institute. Qualities to look for in a good grant writer include:

  • Proven success writing winning grants, especially in your target area.
  • Strong writing skills.
  • Strong math skills and demonstrated proficiency with budgeting.
  • Careful attention to detail — brilliant grant proposals may be rejected just for formatting errors, so you want someone who follows instructions explicitly.
  • Expertise in your target area.
  • Punctuality and good communication skills.

How much does a grant writer cost?

Hiring a grant writer can give you a competitive edge when applying for financial grants for your business or nonprofit organization, or as an individual. The cost to hire a grant writer can vary depending on their academic background, areas of expertise, previous grant writing success and years of experience. According to the Grant Professionals Association, grant writers should be paid hourly or by flat fee. It is unethical for a grant writer to accept a commission or percentage compensation of grant monies received. They can, however, be awarded bonuses in line with the hiring company’s prevailing practices. Here are some examples of average grant writing fees:

  • Hourly rate for grant writers with less experience or fewer grants awarded: $25-$35 per hour.
  • Hourly rate for grant writers with some degree of success: $35-$75 per hour.
  • Hourly rate for grant writers with proven success winning large grants: $75-$150 or more per hour.
  • For a smaller grant, the writer may charge a flat fee of $200-$500 for preparation and submission.

Pricing may also vary based on the complexity of the grant application. A federal grant that requires pages of research, budgets and a business plan may take more than 30 hours to prepare. For a high-level grant writer who charges $100 per hour, this means $3,000 or more in grant writing fees.

Most grant writers will provide you with a total cost estimate before agreeing to the work. You may be required to pay a deposit up front, or the grant writer may work from a retainer. Often, seasoned grant writers pay for themselves in the long run by writing successful grants.
