My 14 year old daughter has been taking lessons with Paul for 2 months now. He has a set method for teaching music principles to build a solid foundation. What sets him apart is that he adapts the lessons to the individual student. He is easy to communicate with and is very accommodating about scheduling. He is also very professional and clearly loves teaching music. He comes prepared and uses various methods and technology in teaching the lessons. He seems to have a desire to continually grow in his profession and bring the best learning experience possible to his students.
I love to sing it´s just fun for me and it makes me happy. But I´m not a singer and don´t even want to go up on stage. I´m trying to be a songwriter andv I was just visiting a workshop at the songwriting school of LA. And on this evening I met Jan the first time. At the moment I´m travelling and I never thought that I would stay in one city that long. But at this evening when Jan made this workshop I swear you guys, I hadn´t laugh that much for a long time. When she asked me if I´d like to come to the class I just had to say yes. It was a heart decision and I don´t regret it! This woman is a very talented singing teacher and also songwriter with a lot of experience, for sure. But she´s much more than that because you can have a REALLY bad week or day, but the second you walk into that class this woman saves your day! She ´s just so funny! Every week I´m looking forward to that day. Of course the most people only want to learn how to sing or to perform but I think it ´s also important to feel comfortable and accepted. And she gives everyone the feeling of being accepted and she takes care of every student. And just to be clear, of course it´s not all about fun and of course you´ll learn A LOT. I just want to say that you´ll be enjoying it to learn from her ;) Thank you Jan
Richard Gill is an extremely talented and kind music teacher. I have been working with him for one year and I now sing well in the women's choir- Athenas at the Los Angeles Athletic Club. It has strengthened my voice and improved my self confidence tremendously!
Stephanie is a top notch musician, piano instructor, and human being. Her lesson plans are well structured and fun, and her enthusiasm for teaching is apparent as well. I highly recommend choosing Stephanie as your piano teacher.
I had sessions with two other vocal teachers before getting to Rena. I wanted to be sure that I was investing in a coach who would give me the kind of results that I was looking for. After our first lesson, I knew that she was my teacher. One of the biggest desires that I had for singing was to find my OWN voice--what made me unique...and in the first lesson, Rena pulled it out of me and helped me learn how to celebrate myself and embrace ALL aspects of me--my BIG, DEEP voice included. Her method is slower than the curriculum most teachers present, but I am in no rush. I desire to have a solid foundation to build on and to keep the health of my vocal chords in tact. Rena has a great ear and is able to point out nuances that can become bad habits if they aren't stopped now. She is also very encouraging--I came into her studio open to where my voice would take me, I just knew I wanted it to lead me into singing as my full time career and Rena is so encouraging and honest about my prospects moving forward. My breathing is getting better, my upper register is being reestablished and I am overall ecstatic to be working with such a pro. I drive twice a week from Hermosa Beach to her location--and it isn't a far drive for such a quality teacher. I am excited to continue to grow my voice and nail some key auditions in 2016. I highly recommend Rena for the student who is looking for quality, excellence, patience and a solid foundation to grow upon.
We decided to chose Brian for my teenage daughter's beginning guitar lessons due to his willingness to teach her the type of songs that she wanted. Right away he connected with her and her music. He taught her the theory behind playing guitar as well as teaching her the tricks and skills of how to play the guitar. His practices were enjoyable and not just rote. She learned very quickly and therefore stayed excited about learning. Brian was always very complementary and encouraging. Brian also helped us buy useful equipment like a tuner, etc. She always felt safe and comfortable. We would highly recommend Brian as a guitar teacher.
Brandon is a great musician with a genuine love for music and growing. He has worked with many great musicians, even legends, and has acquired a solid foundation in theory and practice. Highly recommended!
Paul is one of the greatest music teachers there could be. I've studied with him for about two years -- my skill and understanding have really developed. He's a great player and has a million ways to explain things so if you don't get it one way, there's always another approach.

Marquita Waters is by far one of the best vocal instructors around. Although her and I are used to playing different genres of music, Marquita is able to adapt to any style to benefit the performer. Most importantly, Marquita teaches the singer how to put on a performance and captivate the audience's attention. Highly recommended.
We had been searching for a piano teacher for our 8 year daughter for some time and finally found Charlyn a few months ago. We're so glad we did. Charlyn is extremely patient, very professional and totally devoted to teaching. She makes the lessons fun and works toward my daughters interests all the while teaching the important foundations of the instrument. I love her well-rounded approach--she includes a little of everything from theory, finger positioning, to sight reading, etc... My daughter has learned so much and we've only just begun! I would highly recommend Charlyn to anyone--young or old--interested in lessons!
Chris is an amazing teacher. He really doesn’t like to mess around. Learning how to play the guitar is not an easy task at all, but after just a few lessons with Chris I can guarantee that you’ll feel more confident in your ability.
Mike has been teaching drums and piano to my daughter for almost two years, it has truly been a pleasure working with him. My daughter was only four years old when she started her private lessons, today she is five and she knows how to read music for drums and piano, she is knowledgable in different types of music and can play both instruments beautifully. Mike has done an amazing job week after week; he is a devoted teacher, passionate, and knowledgable in his field, he is very patient, loving and kind towards children, my daughters love him and the education they are getting from him is priceless. As a parent I highly recommend Mike as music teacher, he is amazing, I have nothing but good things to say about him. Marianela L.
Jazzly is the best music teacher I've ever had. She's reliable, attentive to my playing in order to point out bad habits and other things that are invisible to me, always integrates music theory when appropriate and does well to explain it simply without sacrificing any clarity of content. She's incredibly skilled as a musician which itself is inspiring, but unlike many other skilled musicians, she's actually able to articulate what she's doing and explain it clearly in a way that lends itself to being learned. Could not recommend her as a teacher more, it makes the difficult trek and initial learning curve of the violin much more easy to grasp and accessible.
I interviewed quite a number of bass teachers before choosing Kellen. He's very on top of things, communicates well, gets right down to business and stays focused for the entire time, and is great at explaining and encouraging the student. I'm very happy with his lessons and would recommend him to anyone looking to learn bass guitar or upright bass.
Max is a great guitar teacher. Right from the get-go he was flexible, friendly and seemed to get what I needed as a musician. I've had lessons in the past where it was either boring (music theory) or too scatterbrained for me to connect all the dots. Max has a way of zoning in on what you need specifically at the moment and tailoring the lesson toward that. I don't think you can find a better deal in Los Angeles.
Howard Richman is not a piano teacher...he is a LIFE CHANGER. I went to him to learn piano...but realized that the lessons I learned studying piano with the MASTER were not merely lessons in music....but lessons that helped me see outside the paradigm in all areas of my life. Often, as adults, we "come back" to our music...to study what we have been "wanting to get back to" for years. I learned that this is often a time of great change and evolution for us personally. Howard, being so intuitive, knows how to tune in to each individual's needs.... and empower them to EMPOWER themselves. He is a BRILLIANT pianist, composer and master teacher. I've watched him perform miracles with young children who struggled with other teachers who simply wanted to teach "by the book." Howard is always able to find your inner talent and abilities, possibly that are even unknown to you...and he can creatively, intuitively and intelligently create a course of action that will leave you amazed! That's why you are reading SO many wonderful comments here about him. If you are lucky enough to get to study with Howard, it will change your life!...and btw, I can now play a mean Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata"....Thank you for everything you taught me Howard Richman! Daniel is amazing! Not only is he inspiring and super talented at music, he really knows how to connect with his students and help you learn. He is down to earth and patient. I really enjoyed my lessons!
I took bass lessons from Fionn in 2016, during which time he also taught me about music theory and how to read music. Fionn was a very patient and talented teacher, I would highly recommend lessons with him.
I have worked with Bob on various levels. First, Bob provided me with private guitar lessons for several years. Bob made the learning experience fun and enjoyable. I was able to learn and play the kind of music that I wanted to play. Bob is also very patience (staying with me for so many years is a true testament to this!). My youngest son Michael also took private guitar lessons from Bob. On a more professional level, Bob and his band performed at my oldest son's (Bobby) wedding receipion. It was a "blast" with all of the guests dancing and singing. I actually received a call years later from an attending guest asking for Bob's contact information for their wedding reception (obviously they had very fond memories of the event and Bob's music). If and when my 2 remaining kids get married, I can guaranty Bob will be going the music. He makes an event a real party!!!
