"Edgar was an absolute joy to work with. From my initial communication with him all the way through the entire event, he was professional, kind and lovely. Every guest at our event had so much fun in the photobooth. Working in the events industry I have seen a lot of different photo booths and this was by far the cleanest looking set up with each prop having its own place and Edgar keeping it really organized. My client LOVED Edgar and his energy and kept mentioning it throughout the event. I cannot recommend Edgar and Tag Me Photobooth enough!!!"

"Photo booths are very popular for reunions, events & parties. However, if one finds the right photographer, they are also a key element and valuable boost for In-House Marketing & PR. This company, Lensology, created a photo booth for my non profit at the LA Convention Centre for Green Festival LA. It was a knockout! Not only did they cement our branding by embedding our logo & taglines, but they did such an extraordinary job that it elevated our branding efforts and proved to be an essential tool further down the line on our Social Media sites. This company is so professional and so committed that I highly recommend them as this is a gift to yourself that just keeps on "giving"! They are definitely the BEST of the best as they have taken photo booths to a whole new level."

"Linda and Arianna were amazing!!!!! First, Caught Up In The Moment came to my rescue when a previous photo booth company could not make it due to an accident. Caught Up In The Moment immediately attended to my needs in such a professional manner, in less than a 24 hour period! They provided a service I never imagined possible under such an urgent situation. My son's 18th birthday party was a HUGE success because of their photo booth and the unbelievable positive energy and excitement by the photo booth attendants! Linda and Arianna were exuding so much fun!! They made my party guests comfortable to take photos and provided fun posing options. I WOULD HIRE THIS VENDOR AGAIN. Freaking amazing service!!!! Thank you so much!!! "

"Very classy and professional style when he did the Wedding Party and our Introductions as Husband and Wife. He worked with us in having 3 different sites for our music. Ceremony Music, Courtyard Cocktails and then the Reception. I really want people to know Charlie is the right guy. We had a total blast at my Wedding, he is very reliable and highly skilled Wedding DJ/Emcee. From the first time i called Charlie with more details. We knew that our Wedding was going to be in good hands. He was just fantastic in really every way, Music, Announcing, managing all the details that we specified in our Timeline. What an amazing DJ/MC he is for Weddings, he's definitely someone that's going to make a huge impact in a positive way on how your Wedding is going to turn out. We had a lot of fun at my Wedding because of him, we picked Charlie as our DJ/Emcee because he is full time and actually explained before the Wedding and did a lot of things on the day of i didn't even know needed to be done and really helped us with our Wedding so it would turn out great, at first WE WERE VERY VERY PICKY and now that we know he is very talented and a must have service when someone is getting married. We also were pretty detail oriented and organized during the planning process he really does a great job and made a huge difference on how well our wedding turned out, his voice and the way he announces just in itself left a real air of good taste and style. He played all the songs we wanted on the list we submitted to him, he is really honest and nice to work with so it was a smart choice to have him as my DJ/EMCEE. Charlie is a real professional and that's exactly what you need from your Dj, it was a small Wedding but it turned out to be great he really made the day. Thanks Gooodness we found Charlie after our first dj cancelled on us just days before the Wedding, THE EMCEEING WAS TOP NOTCH and he really is a pro. The announcements were perfect and he didn't make himself the center of attention, from the moment i talked to Charlie on the phone the first time, i felt really confident that my Ceremony and Reception would run smoothly which it certainly did. He is very responsive to emails and is helpful with all questions/concerns, anytime i had questions and needed to talk to him Charlie was there, he was such a calming force. Reception, oh my gosh, he did s great job reading the crowd playing the right music, interacting with our guests providing the lighting and making the whole night run smoothly. With that, it was a pleasure working with Charlie Dj and Lighting, he worked with us on the playlist as was willing to make some last minute changes and announcements without a pause. Just hire him as a DJ/MC and Lightinh and then just let him do his thing, You won't be sorry!!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM FOR ANY OCCASION!!! Thank you Charlie and see you soon!!!"

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a photo booth rental?

A party photo booth is a fun, interactive experience where guests can take a series of photos (usually three or four) that are immediately printed out on a strip as a keepsake. When you rent a party photo booth, the company sets up the booth or photo station at your event; a photographer staffs the booth and coaches guests on how to use it throughout the event. Often the photo booth rental company provides props like silly hats, wigs and glasses. There are different types of party photo booth rentals. An open-air booth has a curtain or backdrop that allows more freedom of movement and enables more people to use it at one time. The traditional enclosed photo booths that you may have seen at the mall or the fair tend to cost more to rent, as they are harder to transport and also cost more for the pros to purchase. The national average cost for party photo booth rentals is $400-$500.

How much is it to rent a photo booth for a party?

Renting a party photo booth for your next event will get your guests engaged and provide a take-home favor for attendees. The cost to rent a party photo booth will vary depending on the type of booth, the day and time of year, the length of the rental, and any add-ons you select. The national average cost for party photo booth rentals is $400-$500. Here are some examples of average party photo booth rental costs:

  • Weekday packages: $300-$550, depending on features included and length of rental. A three-hour weekday package for $500 could include guest book, personalized photo strips and DVD of all the photos.
  • Weekend packages: $450-$700, depending on features included and length of rental.
  • Additional hours: $100-$150 per extra hour.
  • Add-on features:
    • Photo guest album services: $75.
    • Personalized photo strips: $30-$50.
    • Custom photo backdrops or vinyl skin branding of the booth: $150-$300.
    • Live social media connectivity (ability to share photos to social media accounts): $100-$250.

How do you make a wedding photo booth backdrop?

Creative or DIY-savvy couples can make a wedding photo booth backdrop in no time. You can ask your rental company to incorporate a custom backdrop into your rental party photo booth, or do your own custom photo booth with a friend serving as photographer. It’s easiest to make your own backdrop for an open air photo booth, which you can hang on a wall at an indoor reception, or hang from a tree or in a homemade frame at an outdoor reception.

One simple yet glamorous option is a tinsel curtain. Choose silver or gold for classic elegance, or go for a wild color like bright pink. For a more refined look, you can purchase three or four yards of a luxe fabric that fits your wedding color theme. Creative couples may want to get funky and spray-paint or hand-paint designs onto a cotton canvas backdrop. Don’t forget to provide props for your guests; the props are half the fun and encourage guests to get playful for the camera. Paint an oversized picture frame gold (don’t forget to take out the glass!) for your guests to hold up. Provide a chalkboard where they can write cute messages to hold in their photo, and colorful items from your costume box: think hats, wigs, funky sunglasses, and sequined accessories.
