I've had Laurel do three jobs for me. One was to match some wall paper from the 1950's. It was dammaged during a construction job and there was a big white plaster area in the middle of the paper. Laurel matched the pattern so well, you can't see where the damage was. Lovely! Second job wa a mural on my bedroom ceiling of clouds and a blue sky. Lovely and the final job was to paint a fiberglass, lifesize goat to match an old picture of my first goat. It was perfect. You would think the goat had come back to life.

Hired on Thumbtack

Laurel was absolutely amazing. I hired her to put the finishing touches on my new Tuscan style kitchen. When I put in a request on Thumbtack with an idea for a mural, she responded quickly. I sent a picture of the general area for the mural (pre-remodel), and she returned with a beautiful concept sketch of the stone covered archway, and a bougainvillea on the wall behind it, showing through. It was exactly what I had envisioned. Her price was reasonable, I thought, for the amount of work that would be put into it. After that, she came to the house and measured everything, and then offered a slightly lower quote because she said the space was smaller than she had thought. I hired her, paid 50% down, and we scheduled a date. Yay! The whole job took two days. On the first day, she came with the bougainvillea painted on some fabric-like material. She rolled it out and then spent several hours cutting and pasting it to the wall, arching nicely over and around a window. The mural includes a terra-cotta planter for the plant, and she painted an extension of the planter over the floor molding, so it "sits" on the tile. It turned out to be really beautiful. On the 2nd day, she faux-painted the wall around the arch, painting authentic-looking architectural stones around it, and extending the stones across that whole wall. It looks old and very "Tuscan." Beautiful. Now when you walk in the kitchen and see that stone arch with the flowers on the other side, it is really amazing! You feel like you are in Italy. The mural adds a warm and cozy feel and it is the perfect touch to the kitchen. Truthfully, my husband was not completely "sold" on the idea of a mural at all. He went along with me anyway, because I was convinced - especially after seeing the preliminary sketch. Now, Laurel has won him over, too! He was absolutely giddy on the day she finished it, and he took about a dozen pictures to send while I was at work. He could hardly wait to show me when I walked in the door! Needless to say, we are both very impressed and happy with Laurel's work, and we would recommend her to anyone who has an idea for a mural; she will take your idea and make it come to life -- brilliantly. It was an amazing process to watch, because she is so talented that she made it look effortless. But I know she put a lot of work into it. And -- what is better than having original artwork in your house, painted by an amazing and talented local artist? You can't beat that. Thank you, Laurel!

Laurel painted a mural on my nursery wall. It took about 2 days. She was very professional and nice. I was impressed by her because she was efficient and the quality of her work was exactly as advertised. She gave me exactly what I asked for but added some really nice artistic touches. The end result was better than I had hoped. I am very happy with the results.

I love doing children's murals. The kids love to get involved with the planning process, and sometime even the painting process. There's never a shortage of creative ideas and bright colors when working on a children's mural.
