What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Interview all potential contractors until you feel you've met the one you like and trust most, as you will be working closely with that person. Low price is nice but it could be indicative of fly-by-night contractors, no-insurance contractors, bad workmanship, etc. Call references, contact the Contractors State License Board regarding current standing and trust your gut.
