If everyone in the world did the kind of excellent work that Nery and his crew did, we would have a perfect world. It is so refreshing to find someone who really cares about their work and pleasing a customer. From the very first email to the initial appointment for an estimate, Nery was attentive and thorough. It was not necessary to oversee or remind him of any detail....he absolutely nailed it. We had a big job with many different fruit trees and huge palms. Nery's work was respectful and courteous. The best I have ever seen or used. I am absolutely thrilled that people who are good at what they do and have a great attitude still exist. You will be very pleased with his work. BTW, his prices are extremely reasonable and, much more than that really, it was a tremendous bargin compared to my experiences with other tree trimmers who only hacked our trees. Nery made each one look it's best and did it joyfully!
Otto was friendly. His helper had some trouble, which is understandable because our yard was *ahem* uh... slightly overgrown (the plants were around 2 feet tall - our yard had returned to the wild) the bush that we had them trim had apparently overgrown as well, because there's now a big hole where there used to be green. Could look better, but it needed the trim. 4 stars only because our regular trash ended up being full with yard waste, and that is only bad because we needed to save some trash bags for the following week. If we weren't moving out of the state, I would definitely have them maintain my yards, assuming they were inclined to come back. Oh, and by the way this place was far cheaper than others who came out to quote the work... even the guy who said he'd match any other quote, then grumbled about how much he would lose if he took the work (which is fine, because he didn't get it). Definitely happy with the decision to go here.
After working with Palm Tree Trimmers for 24 years, I was exceptionally pleased with Torres. He literally climbed up a 55 Palm Tree within 30 seconds and made certain when he removed the dead branches, it did not damage the landscape. He was done within 13 minutes and took another17 minutes to remove the debris. With his price being lower than Palm Tree companies with a lot of overhead, I highly recommend his services 100%.
Chris gave a great fair price. Got the work done in 1 day. I added another bush half through and they got it all done. Crew was nice, worked hard. Everything looked better when they left. Super clean. Awesome job Chris and crew!
Juan was very responsive in providing a quote for bi-weekly landscaping (lawn mowing, pruning, weeding, etc). I was very happy with the work he did and would definitely recommend him.
Francisco arrived on time and did a great job removing a tree stump and a bush from our yard. He is a very nice guy and had the tools to get the job done in prompt and clean manner. If I need another job like this done again he will be the first one I will call.
We hired Jose Silva to cut down some trees remove a lot of old bushes and lay new sod in the backyard where just dead crabgrass was growing (or dying). We were not only happy with his service, we were ecstatic over the work done. He was on time and finished a day early. He went above and beyond what we hired him for which was completely unexpected and we could not be happier with the result. The price was perfect, the workers were just great and we have now hired him as our gardener a couple of times a month. He will be doing the front of our house in the next moth or so and we can't wait to see the outcome. Hire Silva Landscaping. You will not be disappointed!!!!
Best quote I got. Work was done well. I was impressed how clean they left things - I am used to having to clean up after most tree trimmers I've used in the past (we had 4 big trees trimmed and one dead tree removed). Super responsive.
Francisco did a great job at a good price. I am very pleased and will consider him first in my next three trimming project. I contacted 3 trimmers through Thumbtack, Francisco is tops! Many thanks!
We have Ponce do the bi-weekly landscaping clean up for our front and backyard. They take care of our lawn, and all of our tree/bush trimming, and have been great every time. Overall the team is consistent, and very quick to respond/confirm services.
I hired Darrel to mow and trim bushes and he did a great job. The bushes came out just how I wanted them. I'm glad I found him on Thumbtack.
In our small patio garden, Aaron pruned trees and bushes, weeded plantings, and cleaned up. He was on time, worked steadily, and completed all tasks in a professional manner. I am pleased with the result.
Robert is a most knowledgeable and artistic landscaper/groundskeeper. He pointed out the sprinkler heads were incorrect and will save us so much money! He also was keen on how to trim bushes to afford a more pleasing landscape without purchasing any shrubs! I have recommended him to our HOA Board based on his knowledge & detailed proposal for work.
I have hired Juan to be a full service gardener and my yard looks great. The gardeners weed, keep bushes and plants trimmed.
Their work speaks for themselves. I have a 7000sq ft lot, with more plants and trees than I honestly can handle. They mowed the lawn, trimmed the trees, bushes, roses, various other plants. Hauled away the remains of a tree I removed. They were very professional. Let me knew approx they would be there +/- 5minutes. Quite accurate on the estimated time to completion. If you don't have your own lawn care eq, they haul in their own and haul it out. Gladly hire them again no questions asked
I needed weeds and a couple bushes removed in my backyard for a backyard party I was entertaining. The job took a couple hours. Jim and his wife came over to my house for an estimate. When Jim gave me a quote, less than a couple other estimates. I thought, why not give him a try. Jim was back a couple days later on time as specified. Wow, what an amazing job he did to my back yard. The yard was spic and span, I could have eaten off the ground. Jim is a very nice and personable man and will make any home owner happy they hired him.
Pruning is a science and an art. You want to keep the natural structure of the tree and prune it so it looks 'lacey', the air can flow through it, not against it. I mulch the cuttings and put that back around the tree to keep the weeds down, roots cool, and it decomposes into rich earth to feed the tree, bring in worms and beneficial bacterias.
I got several quotes from several companies. Some of the others would probably be considered more "professional," with better knowledge of the specific plants I had in mind, or a long-term ecosystem-style approach to planning, or detailed formal top-down landscape architecture designs. But Sunset Gardens gave me one of the most competitive bids, and they were by far the best communicators. I have a large front yard and an even larger back yard. I needed a huge planter full of dead plants removed, the remains of front and back lawns removed and replaced with mulch, four or five trees planted, a variety of drought-tolerant shrubs and flowers added, some tree-trimming, front and back pathways or sidewalks added, and a drip-line irrigation system installed to replace the old "spray as much water into the air as possible" sprinkler system. One company took a few days to get me a bid and wanted $10k for the project (not including the pathways, which I hadn't figured out I wanted yet), but did not listen to any of my specific needs or requests: they were going to do what they thought was right, cheap, and fast without thinking about my long-term goals. Another company wanted $37k (no joke), and while I'm sure they would have done a fine job, I couldn't afford two cars' worth (and half our family's full year's income) for a project whose number one priorities were removing dead plants and planting some trees; they also left a lot of the specifics vague. Sunset Gardens got back to me the day I called, came out that afternoon to look at the property, and got me a quote that evening, for less than $13k, with a lot of the specifics nailed down. (They actually gave me several options in terms of size of trees and width of walkways, with specific prices for every option, allowing me room to customize based on my budget and plans.) Most importantly, they listened to everything I had to say about what I wanted. They shared their knowledge and recommendations where I had no specifics in mind, but they didn't ignore my own ideas or desires. It felt like a collaborative process from the very beginning to the very end. Once they got into it, they recommended removing and replacing several shrubs that were not in great shape, and adding a drain line to get rain water away from where it was pooling near the house and over to the lower end of the yard. These were also not in the original quote, but they pushed this because it was what the yard needed, not for the additional work: for everything beyond the initial bid, they charged me only for the additional materials/plants, not for any of the (extensive) labor. In the end, we had to get a slightly smaller boxed tree than was initially quoted, which saved me $300. The additional materials and plants cost less than that, so the final price ended up lower than quote. The only issue I had on the project was the tree-trimming, which was pretty heavy-handed. They're not arborists or professional tree-trimmers, and they won't climb up high enough to surgically remove just the dead limbs; they topped my sycamores pretty severely (losing me some significant summer shade). If the sycamores are all filled in again by this time next year (two are already starting to), then I'll be very happy. If one of the trees dies, I'd have to drop my review to 4 stars, but everything else about the experience was so good that I couldn't go any further. This is a small family operation (a father and his two sons), but they work _hard_. Some days they went home early; some days they went home _really_ late. They always started promptly around 8am, and they always did a full day's work with significant noticeable progress. They didn't work weekends, but the total project start to finish took less than a month. They cobbled together the plants I wanted and their own recommendations from at least 6 separate nurseries, ranging from Azusa to Orange to closer to my home in Claremont. Their willingness to go out of their way to make sure we were all happy with the finished product was outstanding. We've gotten several comments from friends about how great the new front walkway is, and the back walkway is exactly what I needed for my everyday use; both were done in lovely sweeping curves. Both yards are already a huge improvement over what I had before, but I'm _really_ excited to see it in a year or two, once the trees are providing shade and the one-gallon shrubs and flowers have filled in. They're small now, but already beautiful and attracting butterflies. My wife and I are really happy. I made sure my mom got their contact information so they could get her a quote for her yards in her new house in Upland. She ended up going with them as well, and is hiring them as regular gardeners as well. They finished my project two days ago, just after signing contracts with her, and started work on her yard. My mom says you already wouldn't recognize her front yard.
Love these guys!! Not only were they more affordable than the other three bidders that came out, they were very thorough and professional. I used another tree service company last time I had my trees trimmed several years ago, and they weren't as thorough as these guys and almost twice as expensive! I have two 150' pine trees in my backyard that were creating too much shade on the back part of my house/patio. We wanted to make certain they were thinned to lesson our concerns during a wind storm. These guys went all the way up and gave these bad boys a really good haircut! Theres so much more light on our patio (though how can one really tell during these cloudy days?) They look much better from the street. Marco came out to give me a bid and explained the process. Then on the day of service, the crew, lead by Forrest (great name for a tree trimmer, right?) got started promptly at 8:30 and was done setting up (which included covering all my recently planted annual flowers with speed cones and moving all my patio furniture), cutting, chipping and FULL clean-up (which included moving all my furniture back, raking and blowing) within 2 hours. I couldn't be more happy with the results and their A-1 service!! These guys are professional, courteous, respectful and friendly. I will definitely have them out in the fall to trim the other trees on my property.
