I'm a drummer who was tired of my guitar playing being limited to power chords and other scraps that I have picked over the years. I needed to expand and I needed structure. Hooking up with Bennett has been fantastic - he doesn't settle on just teaching songs, he takes great care in going deeper into the theory behind what we're playing and the music history around it. And in addition to learning a ton of chords, scales, and applying them to tunes of whatever genre I fancy that week, I love that he consistently reminds me to sing along and generally dig in to try and capture the essence of the groove. I dig my hour with Bennett immensely his love of good music and interest in sharing the knowledge is always one of the finer hours of the week!

Great guy who seems like he'd be a great teacher if you're just starting out, but not at the level that I needed. I specifically stated that I needed a high-level teacher who could teach me advanced techniques & concepts, but unfortunately it wasn't the right fit. I would recommend to beginners & intermediate players only.

FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?Of course. I constantly breakdown new styles of music, the latest hits, just to stay abreast of what's going on in the music world.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?My older brothers made a biopic flick about The Who. From there my brother Jeff became one of the "hottest" MTV music video directors of the 80s/90s/00s and I was his assistant for most of that run and so I got to hang on set with the gods and goddesses of rock, punk and R&B music. The experience made me commit to learning guitar.
- What types of customers have you worked with?I get my clients counting the beat, strumming correctly, developing stamina and recognizing that when they commit to learning a song they are conquering fears and becoming the kind of person people want to be around. Sounds kooky I know, but it's true.
