My daughter and her friend have met with John 3 times so far for SAT prep. They have been very happy with each session. The first session was diagnostic and the subsequent sessions have been spent discussing problems and techniques. John is very easy to work with. They do not feel bad when they make mistakes or do not understand a concept. We plan to do a total of 10 sessions before taking the SAT.
Kate is truly the most amazing tutor you will find. I searched for weeks for someone to help me with a graduate school prep math class, and although there were many options, the people I talked with seemed difficult to relate to and even though they seemed intelligent, I didn't know if I could learn well from their style of teaching. Then...I found Kate. She not only knew all of the material that I had to learn, but was able to explain things in a way that I understood. She is extremely patient and actually made the material as interesting as possible. I would absolutely recommend her for GMAT prep, any college level or grad school math. Her background says it all but when you work with her you see that she is much more-it is her personality and ability to break concepts down that really make the difference. It was also very easy to schedule and communicate with her.
Met with John once or twice a week over the course of several months during my GMAT preparation. I started out with a 13th percentile quantitative score. After working with him I was able score in the 73rd percentile on my first official GMAT, exceeded my initial goal by scoring ABOVE a 700. I had no formal quantitative training or experience prior to studying; the last math class I took was as a sophomore in high school (a decade ago). Each time I met with John, he was able to go beyond simply correcting my mistakes. He clearly explained the overarching reasoning, strategy and logic behind a certain problem. This is something the video explanations in GMAT curriculum do not do as thoroughly as John. If you're looking for someone to discuss GMAT concepts with in a clear and intelligent way, I highly recommend him. I also studied using curriculum like Target Test Prep, but John helped me tremendously by working through the problems I struggled with step by step and identifying any weak spots in my quant skills. He understands the GMAT and is able to identify the kinds of questions that likely would or would not appear on the exam. Finally, John served as a strong source of moral support throughout a challenging three months of study atop a full time job. When I wanted to try a new curriculum or ask him about tricky questions via email, he would always offer thoughtful feedback in response. His responses were especially helpful when I scored low on practice exams; John's feedback always helped me put things in perspective and helped me get back up and try again. He was very flexible and willing to work with my schedule and make time when needed, often on short notice. In short, I couldn't have done it without him!
Ben is a very competent and personable tutor. He helped me with an elementary stats course that I was very concerned about. He has several ways to teach various concepts, so if one doesn't work, another probably will. Ben is dynamic in his presentation and his love of the subject is evident. He was on time, respectful, and dedicated to teaching. The only thing I might change isn't a bad thing, but a personal preference. Ben is so fun and personable it's very easy to get distracted from math and talk off subject. Staying focused would be more productive. Overall, I would definitely recommend Ben as a tutor.
There was no doubt Barbara would be the one I trusted to guide my daughter through the college search and preparation process. A seasoned writer, editor, tutor, parent and observer of life, Barbara’s ability to connect with young adults and to ascertain and celebrate their unique qualities and interests is what makes her work so invaluable. With Barbara’s help, my daughter was prepared at every step of the way, with powerful, creative essays under her belt before the start of her senior year in high school. And thanks to Barbara, my daughter was accepted at the college of her choice.
Jason is an excellent writer, language teacher, test prep teacher (Flora) and counselor. He is dedicated, disciplined, and compassionate.

Great tutor my husband really likes his teaching
I went to Language Truck when I was preparing to go back to school to complete my college degree. I needed to take a math placement test and I wanted to place into Algebra II, rather than have to spend semesters catching up in order to move ahead. The problem was that I hadn't taken a math class for over 15 years and I had a major phobia of Algebra. Bridget at Language Truck worked with me one-on-one for several weeks. She took my anxiety in stride and found ways to meet me where I was while challenging me to stay on track. After working with her, I understood the concepts and placed into the course level I wanted. Bridget sees her students clearly and tailors her instruction to their individual needs, personalities and learning styles.
Organized, professional, is doing exactly what I asked: holding me accountable, gave me a schedule about when to study (and how), giving me homework to practice, the materials, teaching me valuable information including test taking skills and math tricks (so far). Very efficient, and so far, very effective. The test will be the MCAT but already I have a good feeling about getting there. I know I wouldn't have been so diligent on my own.
Alex helped me with my GMAT prep. He was very patient and good at figuring out a personalized strategy for me. I signed up for one of the well known programs but felt that I still needed an extra push. I highly recommend Alex as a tutor to test takers of any level.
I had a lovely experience with MyGuru. They quickly found me a great GMAT tutor that would've cost me at least 2x as much at one if the big test prep companies, not to mention mine was probably better qualified. Overall easy and great experience!
