Doug primarily repaired fairly complicated wooden windows and refinished maybe 10 late 1800's doors. He was meticulous, and put out beautiful work. He takes any/all work he does very seriously and gives it his all. I would gladly use him again in this capacity.

Painting by Doug is an excellent choice. They do outstanding work. The only negative is Doug takes orders from Dave Hamilton and if Dave says "We have another contract you need to start so forget what you're working on and make this new customer happy." So your deadline or completion schedule takes a back seat. This is regarding Dave Hamilton and Handyman Construction. Dave Hamilton's crew does excellent work, but if you don't care how long it takes him to complete your project, hire him. If I were to use him again, I would make sure that he knows I'm going to charge him $100 per day for every day past his anticipated completion date. My project had an additional 3 weeks beyond completion date, and my neighbors project was extended by 5 weeks as well. In both cases, Dave came on a Sunday to complete both projects, and then demanded final payment immediately. Hire him if you don't care when your job gets finished.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Check references. You can't stay in business long, get repeat customers, and earn a decent wage, without taking care of previous customers.
