Shannon helped craft a beautiful dance for my now wife and I as well as my mother and I. We really left things to the last minute, but Shannon ensured we were ready in 4 lessons for our two minute dance! She really went above and beyond to make out very tight schedule work so that we could get all our lessons in. She gave us a ton of confidence so we felt ready when we stepped out there. Super flexible with choreography and taking our suggestions, accommodating on time, professional and just a really sweet human being.

Details: 26-35 • Two people • Ballroom • No experience • Preparing for a wedding • 45 minutes • Once a week • My home, venue, etc.

Wedding dance lessons. She was so patient with my dad and I. My dad is 73 years and he is not the best in understanding dance moves (even tho this was his Idea) 😂 3 lessons and he got it down all the way. Here us 2 pictures of us. 10/10 if I have any other events that need dance lessons I will forsure call Shannon.

Details: Two (ex. me and my partner) • Parent dance (i.e., father/daughter) • Slow Dance • No, I do not have choreography in mind • No experience • At the pro’s location • My home, venue, etc.

My fiancé and I took 2 dance lessons with Shannon for our wedding. She was wonderful, and helped us achieve our goals. We came literally 3 weeks before our wedding, and she was able to teach us the basics of a good dance which was all we wanted! We are so happy how our dance turned out and everyone loved it! Thank you Shannon, you're the best!

Details: Two (ex. me and my partner) • First dance • Waltz • No, I do not have choreography in mind • No experience • At the pro’s location

Shannon is an incredible dance instructor. She enabled us to wow our audience on our wedding day! She is patient and led us through a number of steps which we are taking with us to any dance floor going forward. If it isn’t obvious, we highly recommend her and we hope you choose Shannon as your primary dance instructor.

I found Shannon, after overpaying a ballroom dance studio for 9.5 months straight resulting in 11k of expense. Dance studios use car dealership sales tactics, except it never stops, since they always have something to sell you (private lessons, group lessons, showcases, graduations, competitions, clothes, outings, potlucks). Shannon is familiar with this and was able to rehabilitate my desire to continue with dancesport, because she communicates well and is empathetic. Her instruction is perfect for beginners of adult age, because she articulates nuances clearly and slowly while explaining the reasoning as to why she's making the remarks. Shannon has a strong understanding of the ballroom dance syllabus and the lesson plans that are associated with most traditional studios. Structure is great, because it's organized, but often times comes at the expense of feeling rigid. She successfully navigates the fine line of rigid structure and taking detours from lesson plans to ensure growth, by stepping away from the syllabus and dialing into specific mechanics. I feel like I'm learning the step and all of the techniques associated with the step, in order to get me to intermediate level faster. Despite this taking longer in the beginning, it pays off later, because I won't have to revisit learning the steps with elevated mechanics later on. This concludes my review of Shannon and the rest is just to provide people with my key takeaway after spending 11k on dance prior to meeting her. For all new comers, I have the following advice: Pick one style. When you first start, you won't know what you want to do until you see it being done IN PERSON at the level that you desire to achieve. The fallacy that I fell into was "I won't know what I like, until I try it". I was wrong. LEARNING the BEGINNER STEPS of 5 styles (smooth, rhythm, salsa, batchata, hustle) HAD LITTLE IMPACT on the decisions I ended up making. You will get a better feeling of what you want by seeing it already being performed the way you would hope to perform it. After going to a competition I got to see that I really wanted to learn Latin. I didn't learn the steps to Latin, but I was able to decide on Latin after seeing it, hearing the music, trying to visualize myself performing the dance. Attempting to learn 13 different dances in 1.5 hours a week, without prior experience, made absolutely no sense; that averages out to 7 minutes a dance. When I contacted Shannon, I already knew that I wanted to learn Latin. She is excellent in this domain.
