This guy is great. He was right on time. Sat with my son to explain the computer issues and how to look out for future problems. Really a gem of a person. He’s been in the business a long time, don’t let the others out there scam you. Go to this guy.Mar 24, 2019Verified
I thought I had a virus on my desktop, Matt came to my house and checked out my computer and discovered I did not have a virus. Matt was very nice and explained everything he was doing. He also found some music that I thought I had lost on an external harddrive. I thought his was price was very reasonable and I would highly reccommend his services.Jul 16, 2015Verified
I appreciate that Matt Breslin journeyed to my Ventura home and worked on my computer. However, after he left I tried to use the computer and found there were several sites that had been lost. Also, my YouTube folder contained several music videos and played them instantly... but now, Matt has given each of them a 2 or 3 minute commercial. WHY? And the main complaint is that my email accounts have disappeared. They were posted clearly and prominently before, but now I have to go searching for them. Matt Breslin is obviously a nice guy, but he has not solved my computer problems. Also, I now cannot use the Bookmarks Manager. That, too, is gone.Jul 25, 2015Verified
Tho, I know Matt is an IT guy, I thought I would hire him to teach my daughter(she is only 10) the basics about computers. He taught her in a way that she could understand and utilize it. He was patience and super nice. She really liked him. I would hire him again. It was only one lesson but she already knows how to organize, file and upload/download safely and is ready to use those skills for school.Aug 1, 2018Verified
I have only worked with Matt the Computer Guy once so far and will be scheduling a couple of additional sessions at least. He is a nice person, organized, experienced in teaching all aspects of PC that I need, and a good communicator with texting/emails.Jan 16, 2018Verified
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I avoid hourly rates. I find that there's a lot of "hurry up and wait" in this business. For example, if I offer to move data off of an older computer and onto a newer one, and the transfer rate is slow, making the project take longer, that's not the client's fault, and I don't believe they should be billed at a higher rate. That's like penalizing them for having old or slow equipment. In some cases, I ask my clients what they think is a fair rate, and let their consciences dictate how much I get paid.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?Of course! The technology in IT is constantly in a state of flux, so any good IT person makes it their business to stay current. I do beta testing for Microsoft, and subscribe to a number to technical magazines and journals to keep up.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?Back in 1983 I learned BASIC programming on a TRS-80 computer. More fun (to me, anyway) than writing a program was debugging ones that were already written. I am a natural born troubleshooter.
