About this pro
My paralegal and I are both Christians with many years of experience in Family Law and the related cases that sometimes arise within the case, due to the complexity of issues in family law......all that is important to you is on the line....what is more important to you than your home, your family, your children, your career, your money??? We are mature adults who understand the importance of these things. I was the first administrator/director of the LA County Bar Domestic Violence Project in the LA Superior Court. I was able to work with law enforcement, including speaking at a few of the roll calls, and other events. I trained attorneys and law students in dealing with clients in the traumas involved in the family break up. I enjoy seeing a person...man or woman, who comes in feeling defeated and lost...having the potential of losing all that is important to the client. What is more important to you than your family...your children,,,your home...your finances..? Grow and get through this trauma, and adjust to the changes that are inevitable in this situation...as Christians,, we do not discourage attempts to reconcile, or work things out, so long as the relationship is not dangerous to the parties or children. Then seeing them moving on, getting on with their lives, and hopefully remaining close in relationship so the children can feel comfortable expressing love for both parents.. I am divorced from a very nice man with whom I went to law school. We are good friends, and it is my hope that we can get the hostility out of our clients, so the children can be free of guilt for loving both of them. I grew up in a family in which that worked...as did it with my first husband, who with his wife is a dear friend. What is more important than our homes and families and spiritual values? I pray that my clients and their spouses can bless their children and others with their friendship that caused them to get married in the first place...assuming that violence, or mistreatment is not involved.

- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?Olivia, a paralegal, who is a Juris Doctor from law school and many years experience, and I meet with the client, review the file, spend time determining what is needed, what are the client's desires, and what the case will entail. We discuss our ideas and procedures, and determine whether we are the right firm for this client. A family law case involves issues that are extremely emotionally important to our clients. We attempt to understand what are the real issues to the client, and focus on what we are able to do to assist them.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I, Madeleine, have a Juris Doctor degree in law. Olivia, the paralegal is also a law school graduate JD, with many years in family law, I have taught MCLE courses for the Los Angeles County Bar Association, to train attorneys and law clerks in assisting clients for the Domestic Violence Project for the LA County Bar Domestic Violence Project.
