FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing isn't complicated, but it is pretty precise. It takes into account all the elements that make up the project; like door style, material choices, numbers of drawers and many more. Any choice the client makes that affects the cost is obviously going to affect the final price.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I first try to get a feel for what they're looking for, and whether they're the kind of people I would like to work with. We aren't a "build em, slap em in and move on to the next one" kind of operation. We want to work with people who care about their finished product, and are willing to take the time to do something they'll enjoy for years to come.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Pretty much everything I know about cabinetmaking I have learned from experience. I don't have any sort of training in construction, unless you count several decades of diving in head-first. I was a math major in college, and I use a lot of the math I learned when I'm doing cabinet layouts.
