Introduction: I have been a RPT (Registered Piano Technician) in the PTG (Piano Technician's Guild) for over 30 yrs. I was trained 1 on 1 (apprenticed) for 2 yrs by a Master Tech and learned the art of quality piano rebuilding. I know pianos "inside out". I really enjoy taking a " hurting" piano and bringing it back to life.

Did a good job, but was over an hour late for the initial appointment, which was then cut short. Came back the following week for a minor fix, which promised to be free, but then asked for additional $$.

I always strive to give each client my best quality work. Every client's piano deserves extra time to resolve their specific issues and so I always call my next appointment to inform them of the delay. As in this case I am sometimes willing to work after-hours to complete a delayed appointment but extra repairs must be postponed to a new time when I am at my best. What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I read the Piano Technicians Guild monthly Journal and attend the yearly Conventions which hold classes on all aspects of the piano repair and rebuilding field. I am in regular contact with the other members of our local PTG chapter attending meetings and social functions where we "talk shop" as we'll as socialize.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Piano Tuning and Repairs. Piano related advice and counseling.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
The quality remains long after the price is forgotten...
