Ask what styles your instructor has studied. If they're a devotee of just one, find out if that one is a fit. Styles often constrain what your instructor will have to offer. The more they've studied, the better. Be clear and honest about your goals, boundaries and motivation. If you don't feel understood and supported, keep looking. You'll know the right fit when you talk to your instructor and feel inspired AND grounded!
