FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Every job is different. It depends on the type of termites, treatment, how bad, how big is the infestation, is there multiple types of termites or infestations, is there damage, is there other wood destroying organisms, the size of the structure, how easy will it be to get to the problematic areas and so on. Jobs can range from a couple hundred dollars to tens of thousands or even more if you were doing a very large apartment complex and there was also significant amount of damage to deal with.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes, in order for us to stay licensed, we must complete a total of 24 hours of various educational courses every three years. We also stay on top of any changes with the Rules and Regulations by the Structural Pest Control Board, The Pest Control Act, The Department of Pesticide Regulations, Agricultural Commissioner's Office Weights and Measurements, The EPA, anything that pertains to us with HUD, FHA/VA, DREA, OSHA and all industry related matters.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was very young and got married and was starting a family. So, I needed a job. My father in law had a friend who just started a company a couple years prior. He worked for one of the big chains for many years. I was with him for about 6-7 years as a termite supervisor and wanted to move up in the company, but he was happy at the level we were at. We parted as friends, which we still are to this day and I started Budget Termite Control In early 2000.
