Introduction: My name is Sam and I'm a certified dog trainer in Los Angeles. I would love to help you out with your dog! I have years of experience working in the industry and have successfully helped hundreds of dog owners. I specialize in dog training based on canine behavior and working with even the most difficult behavior modification cases. From puppies to German Shepherds, there's not a breed or unruly behavior I can't handle. I use what's referred to as a Balanced Training Method. I'm trained and familiar with a variety of methods and styles and use whichever is most appropriate for both the owner and their dog. I don't believe in a "one size fits all" training approach. Lucy is now in their Dog Daycare Training two days a week and progress is definitely being made. Not only does she get to play with other dogs, she meets new people and is learning her manners!!

Sam is a great trainer. We had a home session. When he arrived we got to talk about the behaviors we needed to fix with our dog and then we jumped right in. I like that his methods are gentle yet extremely effective. Our dog picked up the corrections really quickly. Sam is extremely knowledgeable and you can tell that he loves his job and is super passionate about it. Highly recommend.

As a first-time dog owner, I felt it was my responsibility to be able to give my pup Billie the resources to succeed as the best version of herself. When I became searching for trainers around my area, I honestly didn't know where to start. I sent an inquiry request for The Ranch Dog Training and within less than 10 minutes I recieved a response from Sam. We then spoke on the phone regarding Billie and he was able to sqeeze her in for a private session the following day. Their lot is huge, plenty of space for training and doggydaycare, five minutes into our private-training I already felt so at ease with Sam & Steph -- they're both excellent/knowledgable trainers and Billie adored them (as did I) they made our session so fun and informative. As a new dog mom it truly put me at ease. To top everything off, they both wrote me a very detailed follow up informative list of all the commands we learned during our session so I could continue her training at home. Which so far has worked great! And we look forward to seeing them again, soon!

We just finished our first session with Sam, and it was such an eye-opening experience. Within moments of meeting our new rescue dog, Sam could already tell us about where his behavior stemmed from and the right way to address his specific needs. We will be continuing training with Sam as we could tell right away that our dog is in the right hands with him.

I wish I could rate Smart Paws, especially the owner Sam Hoke, with 6 stars! Smart Paws is responsive, responsible, and most importantly, loves my dog. The GPS tracking and post-walk emails are incredibly reassuring. I know my dog is in very save and caring hands when Smart Paws walks her. It's great peace of mind for a working dog mom! Dog Training Rates $125 - Online session via Zoom (1 hour) $200 - Private session at our facility in Tarzana (1-2 hours) $250 - Private session at your location (1-2 hours) $150/day - Board & Train at our facility in Tarzana. For dogs with severe separation anxiety it’s an additional $25/day
