Rick DJ'd my wedding earlier this month, and he is the best! From our first phone conversation, he was a delight to work with, addressing my concerns and offering competitive pricing without pressure to book. I was worried about volume with our reception being in a backyard, and we didn't have a single noise complaint (reception ended around 11:00pm). Rick was professional and fun, his transitions were seamless, and his song selection was spot on. At many weddings, it can feel like the DJ just put on a generic playlist of Black Eyed Peas and Rihanna. Not so with Rick: it was clear that he took my list of favorites and carefully chose others I'd like in the same style. We received countless compliments on the music! After months of wedding planning and stressing about tiny details, it was wonderful to let go, trust Rick to run the evening, and dance! I'm sure any brides-to-be can appreciate that. We had such a wonderful time that my sister (and maid-of-honor) is hiring Rick for her wedding in September. Thank you, Rick!!!

I hired Rick to be the DJ of my backyard 40th birthday bash the end of May. Our correspondence began a few months prior to the event. Our initial conversation was very nice. Rick was personable, flexible, and accommodating. He mentioned that he had a regular gig at Folsom Bowl. I took the opportunity to call the manager of Folsom Bowl who had nothing but great things to say about Rick. I then felt comfortable moving forward with the plan, and signing a contract. Might I add that one of the selling points for Rick was his reasonable pricing. I had called other local DJs and was shocked by their quotes. All correspondence in the next few months was handled in a professional and timely manner. Rick had answers to all of my questions and helped to get the ball rolling in the planning. On the day of the event, Rick showed up on time, set up his professional equipment, and got the tunes playing. Prior to the event, Rick had asked that I send a list of my favorite songs and artists. He took note, as throughout the night I noticed that my favorites were played. I had requested that some mellow music to be played while guests arrived and through dinner. As the night grew dark, and time went on, Rick helped get the mood jumping and people dancing. He fed off the crowd and played songs that I wouldn't have thought of, but that people loved. He managed to get everyone out dancing. If you are in need to a DJ, I highly recommend using Rick with Pro City DJ. In fact, I'm hoping I can think of an excuse to have another party and rehire him in the near future.

DJ Rick from Pro City DJs was so easy to work with during our wedding planning! As much as I wanted to select each and every song for the wedding, he made us comfortable enough to trust his expertise and song choice. We never regretted giving him our trust, since he played so many songs that made me want to keep dancing, all the while making sure that the Latin music my wife (and our guests) also wanted were spinning regularly. I do not believe we sat for more than a few minutes at a time, the music was way too good to remain seated. Our guests rarely left the dance floor, and many came up to us that night and for weeks afterward saying what a great time they had dancing that night. Thanks so much for such an awesome night at Mount Palomar Winery, Rick. We highly recommend Rick as a DJ, for any wedding or party! To top it all off, he provided us with a sample playlist from our wedding which weâve been listening to since! You will not be disappointed and may have some sore feet at the end of the night from dancing the night awayâ¦we loved it!

I used Pro City DJ for my wedding at Temecula Creek Inn on 5/25/2015. I had an excellent experience with Rick as our DJ and here is why I would not hesitate to recommend him to all my family and friends: -Organized and Detailed-Oriented: Rick sends very organized emails which kept me on track, he came and did a walk through of our venue with me before our wedding to get familiar with the site and he had all the important questions for my wedding coordinator lined up. His detailed time-line of the flow of events for the day made everything flow very smoothly. -Experienced: this was a big deal to me because my guest list was large (~220 people). During our wedding Rick drew from his experience to advise me on the flow of the events of the day and to pick songs that everyone loved to dance to. He gave me excellent advice that made my wedding day run very smoothly. -Timely: Our primary mode of communication was emails, Rick always responded promptly. -Flexible: I was very particular about the music selection at my wedding, and Rick was very accommodating to my requests, and even edited some music tracks for me to make everything perfect. -Goes above and beyond: like I mentioned above, he helped me edit musical tracks for my ceremony songs -Easy to work with: Rick and his wife are very nice folks who I knew I could approach with any concerns or questions I had. It is very important to find vendors you feel comfortable working with and who are dependable. I was very happy with his services and would definitely recommend Pro City DJ with full confidence.

How did you get started doing this type of work?
I always wanted to entertain my friends with music and sound. Started doing house parties in the early 90's and by 2003 decided to go Pro and it grew from there. I love Pro Audio sound and lights and it's a cool thing to bring you top end club level sound and lights right to your party.

I DJ mostly weddings, but the list is long as I have DJ's things like Glo Bowling, Autisim Speaks Walk-A-Thons, Cycle Gear Bike Nights, Corporate Holiday Parties, Birthdays, Anniversaries, Quinceanera's, Reunions, Car Shows, River Boat Cruises ...
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Most people do not have the experience to know exactly what they are looking for. Look to see how responsive the DJ is when communicating via the phone or email. If the DJ has reviews posted, take the time to read them. These were people like yourselves. Before their event, they only knew what others had said and little from phone, email or interviews.
