FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Fees depend on the complexity of the matter and I can quote you a fee after evaluating your case. Most folks are on the lower end at $1200.00 plus court filing fees. My clients can make payments if they want to but I cannot file their case until the fees and costs are paid in full. I can deal with the creditors while my clients make payments.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I am happy to answer questions in the phone at any time, but ideally I see a client in my office for a free consultation. The consultation I offer is comprehensive, not just a quick meeting to tell you how much it will cost. It usually lasts an hour. Once a client has retained me, I give them a list if documents I need and a binder to organize them. I take their creditor calls so they don't have to deal with collection calls. Once the binder is complete and the fees are paid, I prepare the petition and meet with the clients and go over every age before they sign. The signed petition is then filed with the court. A hearing is held 30-45 days from the date of filing and the clients and I appear before the trustee with the client. I prepare all of my clients for this hearing. In most cases, the clients are granted a discharge .
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a law degree. I am a member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys and I am on the Mediation Panel for the Southern District of California Bankruptcy Court and I limit myself to bankruptcy and settling debts.
