FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I quote by the square foot. The more square feet you purchase, the lower the cost per foot. I don't charge by the hour, and don't think other artists should, because some of us are very efficient and others take a long time to paint the same thing. My goal is to be efficient with my time and the customer's. Get in, prepare the area, get to work, make customer happy, clean up and leave so the customer can get back to their routines and enjoy the art.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
A client calls me about a project. I go to the client's home and we consult about the project, share ideas, look at images. I take measurements and photos of the wall or object then I prepare a written quote based on square footage and detail, degree of difficulty in reaching the area and if necessary, discuss renting additional equipment such as a scissor lift to reach an area. Then we set a date to begin. I request a third of the quote up front for materials. On the day the project starts, I tape off baseboards and protect areas with drop cloths, etc. I discuss the project again with the client and make suggestions of size and placement. I like having the client around while I'm painting so I can ask questions and have discussions as we go. Once the project is complete, the client pays the balance with cash or card or paypal then I clean everything up and remove all from the client's jobsite.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
