FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I work hourly, $45 per hour....for general carpentry. If you need more than a carpenter.....we can discuss. I have not needed any referrals from Thumbtack for the last 3 years, since I have been busy with referral projects and my own new house.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We meet and discuss and see if we can work together to accomplish your goals. There is no charge for this meeting.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a Master Carpenter. That means I build custom homes, from the ground up, or do room additions and remodels. I draw plans and get permits. I co-ordinate with engineers and subcontractors. I am a licensed general contractor, but I prefer to work with owner/builders. I only do big jobs on a cost+ basis. If my license is on the permit, then I run the job, do the book work and billing, and charge for my time. I do not need to get the + part if I am paid for the supervision, but I don't want to carry the insurance and the liability. If you want a work-around to save a lot of money, we should talk. With small jobs, I do all the trades myself....design, permits, foundation, plumbing, electric, etc.....well, not all....its best to sub out the roof, drywall, and painting, unless the job is really small.
