Larry was very professional and I like the quality of his work, the value was an extra bonus. He installed outside lighting fixtures on my 3 exterior door, front door kick plate and other miscellaneous things around the house. The only reason I'm giving him 4 stars instead of 5 is due to him being late due to traffic. He will be back to remove and install a new security door. I will definitely call him again!

Very professional. Elias was prompt and texted ahead with his arrival time. I’m so glad I chose Thumbtack. To say I’m pleasures with his workmanship would be under stating it. Amazing job, he even framed out my doggie door to help support it. I supplied the 2x4 and he cut it to fit. HIRE THIS GUY, you won’t be disappointed. Thank you Elias.

Jimmy was amazing - we needed a new garage opener. He was able to identify the problem immediately and gave us several different options to resolve depending on how much we wanted to do the repair ourselves. We decided to use him for product selection and installation and he was able to do it all the same day. Highly recommend their services to anyone that is need of help with the garage door opener.

They are extremely friendly and professional about their work. Immediately, they jumped onto installing and knew what to do. Zack was very scrutinous about his work and very keen about alignment for my garage door opener to be extremely perpendicular to my garage door. They've got the job done in 1.5 hours and this was for garage door opener installation along with various installments such as sensors, remotes, wall button, etc. He made sure everything works, and he cleaned the surroundings to make sure nothing is left over. I will hire again.

Octavio was great, knowledgable, and professional, was early to our scheduled time to install my garage door opener and I was a little late. You can tell he knows his stuff. We had to improvise to install and he had no problem doing that and even went to purchase equipment from home depot that he needed. He offered all the info I needed to operate and maintain my garage to prevent damage or accidents after the install. Everything was neatly disposed of. He offered to look at another project for me on the spot which I appreciated. Thanks again. Will definitely be recommending him to anybody for garage door needs

Joe Chavez installed our2 car garage door opener. The positives; On time and clean installation for the most part. Competitive pricing. The negatives; Only a very minimal warranty on parts and labor. The crew ran the ceiling door opener wire across the center of the ceiling over to the end of wall and down. My garage is very clean with a nice finished ceiling and with very little extra effort they could have ran it tied into the door sensor wires and hidden it. I called the office a few times and finally...after agreeing to a $25 ‘materials fee’ to come back out and re run it..,they ran it correctly. Would I use them again? Yes I would. Joe the owner called me personally and agreed with me on how they could have ran it. Overall I give them a 4 star rating.

Amazing! My garage door wouldn’t open or close because of the sensor. I went on Thumbtack and searched for garage door companies. Moises from Aladdin Doors messaged me instantly. I called him within a minute. Approximately 30 minutes later he came out to my house for a free inspection. About 15 minutes later, my garage door sensor along with other items relating to my garage door were completely repaired. Moises was professional, super responsive and most importantly fair. He did not try to sell us any unnecessary equipment or services. I would recommend Aladdin Doors to everyone.

Tom was very professional and accommodating. My garage door opener had stopped working and after troubleshooting myself, I realized whatever the issue was, was something I probably should leave to a professional to fix. Tom was able to come to my home on short notice and diagnosed the issue within minutes. His pricing is reasonable and he was very friendly and informative of what needed to be done as well as offering tips for ongoing maintenance. I will definitely contact Tom again for any Garage Door/Opener needs and I highly recommend him.

James was great! I described what happened with our garage door on the phone and he gave me an estimate. He came out at the agreed appointment time and repaired the door quickly. He also took the time to inspect the whole system and make sure everything was working properly. He is very knowledgeable, polite and efficient. I was concerned the repair was going to be costly, but it was very reasonable! Thank you, James!

I chose SAP garage door repair even though they initially had no reviews because I needed a fast response and the ad said 24/7. So I sent at text at 10:30pm and immediately got an answer back. We set a time for the next morning and the owner of the company was right on time. Not only was he able to get my garage door fixed in a hurry, he educated me about garage door maintenance and upkeep to keep the problem from happening again. He used high quality products and gave a super good price. He even saved me money by repairing a panel on the door instead of suggesting I replace it. I usually don’t hire people with no reviews but I am so glad I took a chance this time. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this company for your garage door needs. Thanks again for the great job!

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

Who repairs garage doors?

Garage door repair is a specialized job, which is typically handled by a garage door repair service. Professional garage door repair technicians can test or repair a garage door system and fix cosmetic blemishes on doors. Common requests include help with jammed or inoperable doors, slow or erratic doors, unusual sounds, dents or scrapes on the door, and general system testing. Garage door repair professionals can work on single-car, double-car and RV-size garage doors.

How much does garage door repair cost?

When a garage door goes off the track, the spring breaks, the door is dented or the garage door opener is on the fritz, a professional garage door repair specialist can help. The cost to have a garage door fixed varies, but the national average cost of garage door repair is $70-$110. The extent of the damage and the size and material of the door will affect the final cost. A garage door repair company generally charges a national average of $80 for a service call, which includes the first hour of labor and service, such as testing and inspecting the garage door and opener. Apart from labor, the garage door repair costs hinge on buying replacements parts. For example, a new spring costs an average of $60. Expect to pay several hundred dollars, though, if the door is beyond repair; a new garage door ranges in price from $200 to $4,000, and most homeowners spend an average of $800-$1,200.

How do you choose a garage door?

When garage door repair isn’t an option — perhaps the current door is beyond fixing or you want to upgrade to a quieter, more energy-efficient model — it’s time to buy a new one. But choosing a garage door is not as simple as it sounds, even when you know the right size for your home. A wide range of materials, styles and finishes are available, and each factor influences the cost. Garage doors are made of aluminum, steel, vinyl, fiberglass, masonite, wood (typically cedar or mahogany), or a composite of several materials. They may be insulated against cold or heat. Traditional and modern styles include raised panel, carriage house or crossbuck. Most styles have window or arch options, and are available in different wood finishes and neutral colors. Because garage doors account for a large part of a home’s exterior, their appearance is usually a homeowner’s top priority. An attractive garage door can increase a home’s curb appeal and resale value.
