FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My consultation price is $175 an hour. The rest of my services are a flat fee and vary with the scope of each project.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We start with a phone conversation where you tell me what it is you're looking to do. After this I send you a questionnaire to get some more details about your project. Next, we set up a consultation where I come to your home, tour the space, and take detailed notes. A few days after the consultation I send you a proposal in which I outline everything I can do for you, along with how much it will cost. If you decide to accept my proposal, I send you out a contract and collect a retainer. From there I develop a design plan and present it to you. Once you accept the plan I source all the items you'll need, you approve, I collect payment for those items, place orders, project manage any sub-contractors that may be needed, receive items and install. The whole process is done with as little or as much of your involvement as you'd like.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am affiliated with ASID (American Society of Interior Design) which is a national organization and am also an IDS (Interior Design Society) associate. Designers who belong to these types of national organizations must take a certain amount of continuing education units in order to keep their membership. It is extremely important that designers stay up to date with current building codes and trends in order to provide professional, expert service to their clients. Currently, I am also the vice-president of a local designers group called CAPID (Conejo Association of Professional Interior Designers).
