About this pro
I have almost three decades of experience in the fitness industry, and my clients are varied in athletic abilities (from elite-level athletes to those with special needs), as well as in age (11 to 96 years old). As a long-time trainer, I have developed the ability to accurately address a client's ability, skill, attention span, and goals (plus other factors), to create the best possible use of our time together. You mean what do I LOVE most about my job? Being able to help people facilitate positive changes in their lives! A client said to me, just TODAY in fact, "You may well have saved my life." I thanked him, and then made sure he understood that it was HIS commitment to health and wellness that brought me into his life, and HIS willingness to keep his appointments (and work as hard as he could) that created this huge improvement in his health. It really is a partnership between me and my clients. I love that synergy. I love helping people. I love my job!

First time I've used thumbtack & I am really happy I did. Dede is great. She's professional, on time & easy to workout with. I'd give her 6 stars if I could.Mar 17, 2016Verified
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?YES! And everyone in my industry should maintain their nationally/internationally recognized certification(s) by attending at least 10 continuing education contact hours per year. In the past I have presented these contact-hour trainings, workshops, and master classes. Now, more than ever, I enjoy attending these conferences, summits, conventions, and trainings. My background is Fitness, but my specialty is Older Adults, and Yoga, so my continuing education hours focus mostly on these topics. Nothing is more motivating, stimulating, and inspiring than learning new things, or learning a new way of thinking about a well-established topic. It can breathe new life into a stagnant routine!
