FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing depends on many variables including lesson length and distance traveled vs. in-home lessons. I do offer sibling discounts. Please send me a message to get a quote!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I typically have a conversation with a potential student and parents to discuss goals and expectations. Some students will want to prepare for music school auditions, and some will just want the enjoyment of playing tunes on the piano - everybody has different goals and I strive to work alongside the student and their family in their goals. I have a concise studio policy .pdf that I send out to make any scheduling, billing, etc. questions as clear as possible. I want everybody to be on the same page right from the start.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have extensive training in piano performance - I took piano lessons starting at age 5 and have multiple music degrees - a Bachelor's in Music Composition and Classical Piano Performance from Wheaton College's Conservatory and a masters in jazz studies and performance from Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music in Bloomington. At Indiana I studied with David Baker, Luke Gillespie, and Steve Houghton.
